I know that many of you, like me, must be wondering why we and our once extremely successful country are being expected to give up everything that our ancestors worked to bequeath to us – in the name of globalism.
We are being expected to pay taxes that are paid out as overseas aid, accept mass immigration that consumes our resources – there are many other examples and I’m sure you could all add to this incomplete list. In short, we are expected to put the needs of anyone with a hard luck story and in search of a better life above our own needs. Success in life is frowned upon.
These are the thoughts that have been occupying my mind for quite some time as I’m sure they have yours too. Recently I discovered the work of the author Ayn Rand and her work on Objectivism and in particular on Altruism.
Ayn Rand had a varied life to say the least: born in St. Petersburg, Russia, on February 2, 1905, studied philosophy at the University of Petrograd, before moving to the US and working at Hollywood in the film industry. Ayn became a successful author, using her works of fiction to dramatise her unique philosophy. See her biography here and a timeline here.
Most people, including myself, tend to confuse benevolence and altruism. We need to understand the difference. Benevolence as far as I can tell (I’m no expert on the Bible), is what we are taught by our Holy Bible, it is an act of kindness, a desire to do good.
Altruism is a word derived from the French word autrui, meaning: other people, and is defined here. Altruism is a doctrine or philosophy that always puts other people first, particularly if they’re less well off than yourself. Above is the popular and probably watered down definition of altruism, you can see why it’s so easy to confuse altruism with benevolence.
Ayn Rand goes further and suggests that altruism in its pure form is an evil, cult like doctrine. Here is an old radio interview (about ten minutes) that is worth listening to: “Ayn Rand – Why Altruism is Evil”. And there is an introductory text here that is worth reading.
I’ll summarise Ayn Rand’s views on this and I’ll include a small part of the text:
“What is the moral code of altruism? The basic principle of altruism is that man has no right to exist for his own sake, that service to others is the only justification of his existence, and that self-sacrifice is his highest moral duty, virtue and value.
Do not confuse altruism with kindness, good will or respect for the rights of others. These are not primaries, but consequences, which, in fact, altruism makes impossible. The irreducible primary of altruism, the basic absolute, is self-sacrifice—which means; self-immolation, self-abnegation, self-denial, self-destruction—which means: the self as a standard of evil, the selfless as a standard of the good.”
All very different to the benevolence that we’re taught in the Bible. Altruism is something potentially far more sinister. Of course when we enter into philosophical arguments, they tend to become moot, various people can write endless theses on the matter without ever reaching a final conclusion, these arguments remain very subjective.
If we open our eyes though, if we look at what is happening around us, look and listen to globalist organisations like the United Nations and the European Union, along with their various courts of human rights, then suddenly Ayn Rand’s theories and philosophy make sense.
I’ve always known in my heart that these globalist organisations were an evil Tower of Babel – fanatical, evil cults that love to take the moral high ground as they use their Altruism as a weapon against us.
We’re currently and have been for decades being bled dry by supranational organisations demanding vast sums of money and mass immigration, in reality the invasion of our country. We’re guilt-tripped into thinking that we must sacrifice our country, culture, way of life and prosperity in the service of the Third World and we must not complain.
If we can’t distance ourselves from the Third World, we will be dragged down with it, we will sacrifice all for nothing. I once wrote an article: “Surviving the human tsunami” that explored the exponential population growth in the Third World, while Western populations remained stable until the arrival of mass immigration.
Currently world population growth, looking at the World Population Clock, is increasing by around ten thousand people an hour, the tsunami of mass immigration into our country is a flood that will never stop without our intervention.
Self immolation then is the globalist order of the day and I haven’t even got the space here to talk about the economic aspects of this. When I wrote my first article for this publication, “The Zombie Apocalypse” little did I realise then just how quickly my predictions would come true.
Since I wrote that first article, millions of people from the Third World have invaded Europe and our own country. These invaders only have to use the word ‘refugee’ and once they are on our soil, we must cloth them, house them, feed them and educate their children.
Because of the EU and UN courts of human rights, it is unlikely that we can ever return these people to their own countries. These new arrivals are then free to show their gratitude by raping our women, sexually exploiting our children and turning our streets into a battleground while being a phenomenal drain on our resources. We are being asked to commit suicide in the name of an evil cult called altruism.
I regard this as the most important article that I have ever written because it clearly identifies our enemies, the European Union, United Nations and various Non Government organisations as the evil, fanatical cults that they really are.
If we are to survive, we must have respect for ourselves, our country, our culture and our way of life, the respect that these things truly deserve. We must confront these globalist organisations head on and simply refuse to accept their evil, twisted, fanatical narratives.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
It’s easy to convince yourself something is virtuous if you do well out of it yourself.
The potential of young people to advance themselves is amazing. William Cobbett a political journalist, Pamphleteer and eventually an MP, had little formal education but was able take the opportunities afforded him at a young age and advance himself with hard work. He was a free thinker, an individualist, and believed in fair play.
It does seem that Ayn Rand may have been such a person, possibly.
My own feelings about benevolence and altruism is, being a little ignorant of the philosophical definitions, that they are irrelevant in defining a healthy outlook.
We are the worlds most advanced animals, maybe, mentally, but then we are all but one step out of the jungle. One has to ‘love thyself’ before one can be any help to others.
Consequently I would totally agree with your sentiments. As far as I know, and I believe, as far as any of us know, there is no duty to help others. But in reality it is the morally right thing to do. When that ‘morally right thing’ is understood, then we see that virtuous definitions are irrelevant.
The problem is not understanding the globalist’s motivations. The problem is convincing those who have been brainwashed into thinking that they are virtuous and can be saved by globalists. In my opinion.
This country has been let down by a whole series of useless governments since the second world war. The present government started off well and got us out of the European Union, but they seem to have a fixation on building a relationship with Communist China whether it be in our interests or not. I voted conservative this time round and joined the party as well, but my patience with is close to wafer thin with the likes of Matt Hancock etc etc. We need The Brexit Party to enter the fray once again, and the sooner the better.
Well it seems clear to me that those who preach ‘altruism’ do not include themselves in the sacrificial rite of self abnegation. All the global altruists I can think of like Bliar and Gates etc have more money than they know what to do with. So they turn to peddling this destructive cult out of sheer devilish evil and for the pleasure of seeing the world turned upside down while the hoi polloi whom they so despise (but who were instrumental in making the fortunes they now ‘enjoy’) suffer the resulting anarchistic chaos!
My friend Tommy Robinson has been talking about this nonsense for years, but as he is a scumbag like me, no one listens, until like now it is nearly too late. We must lock up shop until this foreign invasion is under control and politicians start doing our business, what we employed them for. The UK is full, and if it isn’t, lets pretend it is.
The foreign invasion hasn’t even started in earnest yet ; just wait till “Brexit” is “finalised” at which point the UN Global Migration Compact will kick in. And this globalist govt will not lock up shop and stop this invasion. I don’t think most of them would agree with you that they are employed to serve our interests not theirs. Although they don’t admit it of course.
PS And by the time it happens I bet you won’t even be able to criticise or discuss it
Well said Mary. Mass immigration will continue apace under the Tories. No ifs not buts.
Next time you catch up with your millionaire friend Tommy maybe you could ask him, on behalf of his ex-followers, where has all the money gone? Careful now, we don’t want you standing on his (Gucci) toes though now do we?
Altruistic – smug, patronising, self-satisfied, autocratic and dictatorial. And impersonal.
Do you feel a growing need for “sieging the Bastille”?
This article would have shocked me a year or two ago. I was chugging the cool aid of multiculturalism and globalism like the people I spent my time with. Then I came across people like Jared Taylor and my world view was turned upside down. After struggling with cognitive dissonance for a while, and looking for evidence to disprove what was making me uncomfortable – but to no avail. I was Red Pilled.
I have far less friends, they became increasingly uncomfortable with my views. I didn’t push my ideas, but neither did I hide them. I have now gone self employed, my employer was less than happy with my new views, and I wasn’t prepared to disavow my opinions to please my boss. So, I have personal experience of how challenging it can be to stand by your views once they move away from mainstream.
So bravo Flyer for putting your ideas out there. It isn’t always easy, but it helps people like me to know there is a growing realisation of the underlying narrative that the globalist have crafted, that insidiously frames the way people view their own destruction.
The truth will set you free.
What a delight to read your posting!
Welcome aboard. It makes me smile from ear to ear, to know it is still possible for people to see through the 24hr propaganda aimed at keeping them well away from articles such as this. For those of us who have had their eyes open for a long time, each new mind that is freed, is another potential life saver for our kind. I’m kept at arms length by many people, family included especially the younger generation, yet I don’t care because I know the alternative will be far worse and they’ll have a long time to repent if they don’t wake up soon. I don’t go around giving my opinions out, but when cornered or asked on certain issues then I can’t lie or pretend something I don’t believe in just to be socially acceptable.
I may be able to show by parable, what you are saying Flyer ! ….. A ship is sinking and lifeboats are manned. – These lifeboats are designed to take 25 people to safety, and sure enough they make landfall. – Unfortunately, due in this instance to panic, there are lifeboats holding a whole lot more than was the design, with 50 people or more in a boat. – Due to the weight, and the rise in the centre of gravity, these lifeboats capsize and all are lost at sea ! ….. Every lifeboat has a member of the ship’s crew, or a ship’s officer in charge. – Some keep pulling more people into their boat with all good intentions, but inevitably overload, and capsize is inevitable with all lost. – Others with knowledge of lifeboat design, stop at 25 people, and safely make landfall. ….. It is clear to me who are wise, and who are foolish ! ….. Now, what were you saying about immigration in UK ? …..
Read her books, then comment. IMHO Altruism is disgusting. Charity begins at home. The thing is Foreign aid used to be based on helping both Britain with contracts and its recipient by providing work and moving towards self support. eg Damns, bridges, railways. But this has been prostituted.
As I remember, she escaped Russia sometime between the wars, Read ” Atlas Shrugged” or “Tthe Fountainhead “. Seriously HATED by socialists, Liberals, and basically all lefties, because it does not accept excuses and gives blame and reward where due. Something UKIP could use. It might stop incompetents getting to the top through “popularity”, or whatever. You’ve gotta have more than that or we’ll fail again.
We have to understand, you cannot just plonk someone in a position and expect anything but disaster.
When I was in the TA (many years ago) and learning the NBC drills, one thing stuck in my mind which the army had bang on – look after yourself first and others when you yourself were protected – dead you were no good to anybody. If we aspire to give hope to other countries then we have to sort ourselves out first. We made a start with Brexit, now we must follow through by getting out of lock-down and showing that Covid19 is not the Black Death after all.
And if you get yourself wounded you become even less use. What is an NBC.
Mr. Spokes, that is Nuclear, Biological and Chemical. Gas Gas Gas, donning your gas mask and NBC suit etc etc. If you haven’t been in the armed forces you wouldn’t know the significance.

One of the most unpleasant philosophies I’ve ever read. She herself is well worth listening to in order to understand how intellectual argument has limitations.
Her very presence reveals a lot – voice by corncrake, hair by chainsaw and dressed by The House of Sack. A hypocrite to boot – it was apparently OK for her to depend on others, just not the other way round.
I wrote an SF short about people like her before even knowing she existed. It’s in one of my collections on Amazon Kindle, I forget which. Conversations With S.A.R.A.I
The motto of the Princes of Wales is ‘Ich Dien’, ‘I Serve’. Now there’s a philosophy to which I subscribe.
JF .
‘I Serve’ but whom?
The Gary Cooper, court room scene from the movie Fountainhead is a powerful portrayal of the choice between the empowered individual – who might choose to help others – and the socialistic system where the elite and their apparatchiks decide whom is worthy – the state we are rapidly sliding into.
By their fruits shall ye know them. Anyone who thinks that criticising someone’s appearance constitutes a valid argument has zero credibility.
So you’ve read my short story?
People’s appearance and manner is how we form our first judgement of them. I look at Ms Rand and judge someone who has no regard for other people’s opinion, lacks vanity – a good thing – and lacks self-analysis, a bad one. But let me put another argument against her barking notion that selfishness is all. The Inuit people used to live in very cut-off communities where self-reliance was the only way to live. But at times of extreme difficulty cooperation was the only way to survive. Example: when a member of the tribe was out of control and so powerful that one person was unable to oppose them, the only solution was to cooperate . then, after one murder or rape too many the little people had to group together. Then the powerful one was brought down. Without the abandonment of selfishness the Capo di tutti capi is who ends up running the show. How is that working in Mexico?
After several years working at a low level in UKIP and TBP I found that the people who admire the Objectivist philosophy, the excruciating fiction, the film where the overman that she admired makes his courageous speech, who claim to be libertarians, always see themselves as the ones on top, the ones making the decisions. I have no such delusions and as one of the little people I like the idea that we’re all in his together.
Now, about her being a hypocrite, do you have a view on that?
JF
“The Inuit people used to live in very cut-off communities where self-reliance was the only way to live. But at times of extreme difficulty cooperation was the only way to survive.”
We Brits used to have the same cooperative, cohesive community, not anymore. Unfortunately the world has some problems, our Western countries used to be well organised, civilised, the Third World never has been or at least not in recent times.
I hunt animals that need to be culled, some of them breed so successfully that failure to cull them would mean the destruction of their environment and ultimately starvation and suffering among their population. In spite of our technological and other achievements, we humans live with the same constraints as the animals that I cull, they compete for resources in a finite world.
Nature will eventually take its course in the Third World but we don’t have to follow them into hell. Benevolence yes, Altruism no, we are allowed to fight for survival and the quality of our own lives.
I must admit though, Ayn Rand does look like she could scare Angela Merkel and I’m not suggesting that we adopt her hole philosophy, she just makes some good points.
If nobody else can do it. And the one who can doesn’t. It doesnt get done. & never ever ever gets done by a committee.
Julian It’s a long, long time ago that I read Rand but I seem to remember that her views on embracing the benefits of individualism/small government/ entrepreneurialism rather than the monopolistic and cosy relationship of corporations and big business.
She may have been a bit of hypocrite but can’t we find inconsistencies in all philosophies and all individuals too, particularly the Prince of Wales?
Nobody in their right mind could honestly defend the current state of UK politics which has been captured by special interest groups. Labour is controlled by the unpatriotic hard left and in hock to union barons, Cons bought and paid for by the hyper-rich. We need to break British politics but the process will need care and intelligence, not just anger.
I’ll write Pt II of So You want to be a Politician when I’ve recovered from this nasty bout of gastric flu. Until then… There are those with much longer experience at this grassroots rebellion, but apart from the MEPs there aren’t many, I bet, who’ve been so involved with the actual voters
I think I know what will sell and what won’t. To be on topic for a moment, Ayn Rand’s doctrine of selfishness won’t sell at a time when volunteers in the health and care services are literally risking their lives for others.
I wonder what Captain Tom thinks of Objectivism.
JF
Stay well Julian.
Go read the Beano it is aimed at your level of intelligence
“the most important article that I have ever written”
I agree. I have long been opposed to the globalist organisations, especially the UN. Sadly they are deeply entrenched now and supported by deluded politicians who somehow think that a place at the “top table” is reserved for them. Sadly I can’t think of any peaceful way to defeat them unless a new, nationalist and strong political party emerges. Somehow we have to open the eyes of the young who will inherit this mess.
As far as the global cult is concerned GDP does not matter only the gross size of their share. The sheeple do their bit out of pathological altruism.
Mike – great comment! It’s amazing isn’t it that the strongest proponents of the altruism cult are the wealthiest people on Earth and those aspiring to be so.
I think the pathologicals are also hoping to avoid anticipated punishment by the elite (often faced up by the comedy ‘police’) plus gain virtue points for their loss hopefully purveyed by God who will reward them later on. It’s all so MEDIEVAL. .
”Elite”? Surely not. Isn’t there another word that more appropriately describes them?
Since I wrote this article I’ve found an old TV interview with Ayn Rand, she seems like very intense kind of woman. I may not agree with everything that Ayn says but in regards to Altruism I do.
As the sayings go:
“Put your own house in order first”
“God helps those that help themselves”
“Objectivism vs Altruism” Ayn Rand
