Coffee and the ‘culture’ section: much better than newsie news!
Well, I have to hand it to the ‘newsie news’ providers in our glorious MSM. They are still desperate to find something for their print edition front pages because writing about real problems must be avoided. There must be a great number of problems they don’t want us to know about.
Firstly, here’s the piece by Auntie Beeb: “Newspaper headlines: Putin defiant and ‘fury’ over new Lawrence suspect” (link). When there are things out ‘elites’ want to hide – play the ‘racism card’. it always works.
Moreover, it’ s of course totally unfair that Putin dared to do something about that ‘coup’ by Mr Prigozhin! He ought to have curled up and died already, according to western ‘opinion’. Note well that suddenly, there are no reports about brave, plucky etc Ukraine beating back big bad Russia …
Don’t expect a proper analysis of this ‘coup’ in any western meejah. As has become customary, certain ‘alt’ writers/bloggers have come up with the goods. If you’ve never heard of ‘Moon of Alabama’ let me point you to this analysis which is more to the point than anything you’ll find in our MSM. Then there’s the analysis of an eminent military writer who concluded his (paywalled) substack essay thusly:
“Prigozhin is neither the harbinger of regime change nor a piece in Putin’s four dimensional chess game. He’s simply a mercurial and wildly irresponsible man who saw that his Private Military Corporation was going to be taken away from him and decided to go to extreme and criminal lengths to prevent this. He was a card player with nothing in his hand who decided to bluff his way out of a corner – until his bluff was called.” (paywalled link)
Why, according to our political pundits, it’s heinous and a sign of weakness when the head of a state addresses his nation after such an event – well, ‘our’ way is to have ‘experts’, ‘sources’ and SpAds explain at length, producing word salads, pouring info and analysis over us until we beg to please make it stop. A proper analysis is not wanted.
That’s all I’ll write on this issue. Now back to some hair-raising ‘news’ with which our glorious broadsheets have filled their pages. Let’s start with news relating to our beautiful Sacred Cow. We’re again told how prevention is better than cure and thus we find this report in The Times (all emphases are mine):
“Social media-driven anxiety and the physical strain of working from home at uncomfortable desks have contributed to the sharp rise in people suffering long-term sickness, the work and pensions secretary has suggested.” (link, paywalled)
Instead of supporting a drive to stop WFH, Mel Stride, the work and pensions secretary, proposes:
“[…] an expansion of schemes that offer life coaches to those with long-term health conditions to ensure that they can find work and do not spend years languishing on benefits. Despite costing more than £2,000 per person the scheme could pay for itself by getting people into jobs, evaluation of pilot projects in Sheffield and the West Midlands has shown.” (link, paywalled)
If “we” are so rich that the Treasury can waste so much of our taxes on WFH workers suffering from social-meejah-driven anxiety (!) and a lack of proper desks to work on, then surely Mr Hunt can lower our tax burden, no? After all, those WFH-ers are not precisely short of a bob or two and can be expected to pay for such life-coaches themselves. Don’t they already shell out for personal trainers to get ‘fit’?
It has apparently come to this: those who do the actual work in this country, work which needs physical labour and can’t be done by WFH, are told to get on with it while posh WFH people in cushy jobs get even more ‘state support’ – and the Westminster lot thinks this is an excellent idea! Words fail me …!
There are other reports which demonstrate that the enthusiasm of our Westminster MSM for ‘regime change’, for a Labour government, is skin-deep only. Look at this headline: “North Devon council rejects flats in case of flooding in 2105 – Barnstaple residents baffled by decision amid serious housing shortage” (link, paywalled).
Oh dear. The Net Zero green crappery is also aimed at ‘the future’ thanks to the ‘precautionary principle’, is it not. What’s good for the destruction of our economy surely is good enough for a local council! Obviously, we’ve never had floods in this country and there were no outraged wails about the insanity to build on flood plains, ever. It must be nice to have a memory only going back to Friday morning …!
I leave you with the story of a seagull which devoured a squirrel. Our contributor J.Butties posted this last evening, so I went and looked it up, for obvious reasons! The report was in the paywalled DT:
“A gull has been caught on camera swallowing a squirrel whole. Footage shared online shows the bird gobbling down the animal, which may have been eaten alive.” (paywalled link)
You can watch the video here, non-paywalled. It’s no more gruesome than watching any predator eating his prey, so fondly presented by the likes of David Attenborough on the Beeb.
However, I was beyond astonished to see that the author of this report was none other than the DT’s Mr Remain, James Crisp, ‘Europe Editor’. No, he did not blame Brexit for the demise of yon squirrel or for the voraciousness of yon seagull. Perhaps he ought to spend more time on social meejah, to keep him out of Remain mischief!
That’s all I have for today. Hunting squirrels has apparently become ‘newsworthy’. So I’ll get on with my hunt but assure you: I shall refrain from eating them. Have a good day.
Of interest to conspiracy theorists.
HA…..It didn’t get off to a good start as the presentation came from a building owned by the European Union and the interiors bedecked in EU emblems. All very reminiscent of where the Nazis had rallies in Nuremberg etc. The presentation, how can I say it, was tedious and sleep inducing, but no more than what I would expect of a forum hosted by the EU.
I didn’t watch it as I have video fatigue, and don’t know who issued it and for what motive: But I do know that the enemy sometimes put out really fake news that looks as if it’s coming from our camp; then they show that it’s wrong, just to discredit us.
Was this video one such I wonder.
Mary, No it wasn’t. You should watch. And the other one I posted. In that one Prof. Rancourt shows from national death records that the virus, like no virus in history, respected national borders. So no pandemic, but clusters of deaths engineered or from creative causation statistics, depending on which country it was in, to cause the fear and the willingness to be jabbed.
Will do. this really is happening I know.
I was just highlighting one of the cunning ruses they do use sometimes to try to discredit us.
Mary…….we have far too many videos on this site. If one cannot make a point without referring to a ruddy video which is just somebody else’ opinion, one might as well give up.
Wrong CH watch this. Vids rule!
Tip allow the first two adverts to cancel themselves (ie do not click the white arrow, no support for meta as a result) and enjoy the yankee humour at the end as it applies here!

We can discuss excess mortality on another thread in due course.
Phil O’S, CH, Butties: I’m not saying that none of the videos are worth watching, and certainly not the one discussed here. But (and I’ve been guilty of this too) I see numerous comments everywhere, and I get emails too from my contacts, containing videos with no introduction or explanation: I have to watch the video in order to grasp what the point is that’s being made. Scores and scores of videos, and I’d need a year of Sundays to watch them ! Most of the time I switch off thinking, yet another video, so missing out on whatever point was being made !
Bottom line, it would be helpful if the poster/emailer briefly provided a concise text trying to summarise what the video is about, to save time.
The conspiracies are no longer theories, Harry, they are facts, as they always were.
Where can I get one of those seagulls? A pair of skwirrels in my garden can daily eat as much apples as a family of six. And they are really hard to dedify – move like greased lightning. No wonder they are called tree-rats. Fenn trap MK 4 needs a lot of thought to succeed.
Trinidad has some really good older marksmen. Rubber plantations offered 10 cents a skwirrel’s tail. Air rifle pellets were 1 cent each. 410 shotgun shells were 7 cents each. Youngsters with those incentives became very good real quick. Not many people know that . . .
Biscotte………leave those poor squirrels alone. They are not eating the apples to personally spite you, but eating them to survive. Concentrate your angst upon the idiot at Number 10 who is slowly but surely ruining this country in every conceivable way. I thought Johnson was bad enough but Sunak is taking the biscuit. Anyway I have refrained from labelling him a ‘buffoon’ to keep you onside. Apart from that, Seagulls in name don’t exist and is children’s talk. Common Gull, Herring Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Great Black-backed Gull, Kittiwake, Little Gull etc etc are their names, so come on get with it. And as for a Herring Gull devouring a Squirrel, that’s a laugh almost impossible I would say, but is something so unbelievable that it may emanate from Johnson’s mouth for instance……..
Since when has the BBC considered itself to be an auxiliary police force. Undoubtedly the investigation into the Stephen Lawrence murder was deeply flawed, and all victims of crime whether it be murder or anything else should be treated the same. However, hearsay evidence where someone says something relating to a crime to somebody else is not admissible in court. The police have a duty to submit all evidence gathered in respect of crimes whether it be beneficial to the case or not to the Crown Prosecution Service, and they go through the evidence with a fine tooth comb and strike out all hearsay evidence in advance of a trial and one is not permitted to mention it in court.
Time to stop all the “working from home” aka “skiving” for many, courtesy of the taxpayers.
Jack………..but who is going to stop it. It has to be said we have an incredibly weak government at the helm who give into anybody and everybody, and individually are afraid of their own shadows. Their cumuppance cannot come quick enough for me. They are just simply bloody awful from start to finish, and I hope as a party they never darken our shores again. They are a spent force in every sense of the word and are finished for good
