They’re back …
You really couldn’t make it up! Just one day after I pointed out that BJ’s promise of a fabulous ‘Covid Inquiry’ contained backdoors designed to let the covid emperors escape, here we are: SAGE is holding an emergency meeting because that Indian variant is spreading so quickly. There’s also a piece of ‘NHS news’ which, yes, made my blood boil. yet again. More on that below.
Firstly – that ‘Covid Inquiry’. Some MSM writers are already pondering what such inquiry might look like. It’s all giddily speculative because neither a chair nor the actual ‘terms of reference’ have been decided yet. However, at least this piece of intriguing information has slipped out:
“The inquiry will also not start until spring 2022, triggering criticism of delays from Labour. There is no guarantee its findings will be completed by the next general election, currently due in May 2024.” (paywalled link)
Moreover, because the terms of reference aren’t yet set, backbench MPs are already hard at work getting questions on the table, from the efficiency of lockdowns all the way down. After all, BJ and his covid hench-emperors will all testify – on oath. Next year. How intriguing. Not.
I must be a dreadful knave for thinking that the covid government seems happy to wait out another ‘wave’, the seasonal winter cold now clearly being covid but not flu, not the sniffles, not pneumonia. We do know that this will mean more lockdowns, that this will mean they can shrug their shoulders and declare such inquiry would better be postponed until 2024 so that a new government – Tory, of course – could start with a clean sheet. After all, it’ll still be ‘the pandemic’, so inquiries cannot be undertaken.
Back to today and SAGE scientists are already hinting that the fabulous release from all restrictions on Midsummer Day may not be permitted to happen. Everybody in government is now a covid expert and our beloved MSM love playing ‘gotcha, as this quote shows:
“George Eustice, the Environment Secretary, said on Wednesday that the Government “can’t rule anything out” when asked about the potential for local lockdowns, as he admitted Covid-19 hotspots had emerged in parts of the UK.” (paywalled link)
It’s news to me that this government needs to be forced into ‘admitting’ that hotspots exist. There have already been reports that Bolton is such a hotspot. “We” of course cannot talk about the mix of ethnicities living in Bolton and “we” can of course not talk about the uptake of vaccines in certain ethnic groups – that would be racist. Researchers have however found that the “infections are spreading more rapidly amongst the Asian community” (paywalled link). Next, we’re given the scare numbers:
“Analysis by one of the UK’s biggest variant trackers warned the strain is focused in hotspots Bolton and neighbour Blackburn with Darwen, where outbreaks have grown by 93 and 86 per cent in a week, respectively, with more than half of lab-checked cases proven to be the Indian strain.” (link)
Before everybody clutches their pearls and grab their nearest face covering let me point out that this is about 750 or so people. Half of all covid infections in London are also thought to be caused by those Indian variants even though the numbers are still small. And while BJ is still optimistically burbling about looking forward to town centres bursting into live next month, he again left himself an escape route, warning that:
“the Indian strain was ‘of increasing concern here in the UK’ and could ‘pose a potential lethal danger. […] The end of lockdown is not the end of the pandemic. The persistent threat of new variants, should these prove highly transmissible and elude the protection of vaccines, would have the potential to cause greater suffering than we had in January.” (link)
So we’ve been duly warned and have to await the ‘guidance’ by SAGE who are meeting today. Never mind that another expert, Steven Riley, professor of infectious disease dynamics, Imperial College London, said that their data show that thanks to mass vaccination:
“[…] we can have more infections in the population with far fewer deaths. And we actually see that difference growing nicely now for hospitalisations as well, so for each infection in the community we are producing fewer hospitalisations and far fewer deaths.” (paywalled link)
Might that fearsome ‘increased infectiousness’ of that variant not matter so much after all? Why then is SAGE frit, why are covid politicians even thinking about keeping restrictions in place? Are they afraid of being called racist – or are they hoping to keep us under their covid cosh?
Next, the NHS news, dug out by the DT, which made me angry. The NHS has now formalised the ‘guidance’ they gave to GPs last year when everything was locked down (my emphasis):
“New NHS guidance instructs family GPs to embed a system of “total triage”, meaning that anyone seeking to see their doctor must first have a discussion online or by telephone. It makes clear that anyone deemed by a doctor to require a face-to-face consultation should still receive one, but says that about a third of all patients’ requests can be dealt with using online messaging. The advice, first issued in April last year, and updated last September, as a short-term measure, has now been formalised into annual NHS operational planning guidance, which came into force last month.” (paywalled link)
Doesn’t it strike you as rather odd that we have not been informed of this guidance even as people keep complaining about their experience to the MSM? Isn’t it odd that our MPs seem to be incapable of demanding this guidance be scrapped forthwith? There’s more:
“GPs should “discourage” patients from turning up in the hope of securing an appointment, with such cases given a demonstration of online forms using a smartphone, […] The guidance also suggests that online consultations can be carried out “very quickly”, recommending “quick wins” such as using preset messages.” (paywalled link)
Using ‘preset messages’? So ‘the doctor’ doesn’t even need to engage with the patient on the phone? A preset message is of course a wonderful diagnostic tool …! Doesn’t this look as if the NHS is ‘guiding’ GPs not to bother with pesky patients? After all, this system “helps GPs to identify and focus on the most urgent and serious cases and ensure that those who need them get face-to-face consultations.” (paywalled link) – so it’s all good, no? Me, I think this is all because apparently modern-day GPs don’t want to come into contact with the pesky unwashed masses. Now, thanks to covid, they don’t need to:
“When the NHS first issued guidance recommending use of “total triage”, it said that such measures were necessary to “protect patients and staff from avoidable risks of infection”. The same phrase is repeated in the updated guidance, despite falling cases of Covid.” (paywalled link)
Isn’t it wonderful how covid has changed our lives! We won’t be able to see our GPs, our roads are already being reconstructed by local authorities into cyclists’ paradises, never mind that people still need to use their cars: what do a few extra miles of detours matter when “we” can all get onto our bikes and become green.
Well, I for one shall refrain from cycling to my GP surgery. I’ll consult Dr (insert the browser of your trust) and find out about what ails me without having to see ‘preset messages’. I wonder though if “our NHS“ will send me NHS-approved devices to take my blood pressure, my temperature, test myself for covid – and will give me an NHS-approved smartphone.
I leave you with news of ‘coercion by cabinet’. If you thought Cancel Culture only takes place at universities, think again. You’re aware of the situation in Israel where Hamas is shelling Israel with rockets – over 1,000 so far. You’ve probably heard how all the Western ‘statesmen’, BJ included, are again calling for ‘calm’ – from both sides. So while BJ tweeted his ‘concern’, urging “Israel and the Palestinians to step back from the brink and for both sides to show restraint”, a foreign office minister, according to the DT, was
“[…] forced to delete a tweet expressing support for Israel in its conflict with Palestine […] Lord Goldsmith, an environment and foreign minister shared a message from the Israel Defence Forces about the country’s response to rocket attacks from Hamas. The peer tweeted: “No country on Earth would be expected to tolerate these incessant attacks on innocent civilians – by an organisation committed to their total eradication. Why should Israel?” (paywalled link)
Good question, Lord Goldsmith – and another good question is why he isn’t allowed to make that point. Is ‘cabinet discipline’ now used to coerce all ministers to sing from BJ’s hymn sheet only? What might one call such political set-up? Answers on a postcard.
KBO!

Major mistake in that Twatter post by Goldsmith. All correct except that the word ISRAEL should have been replaced by Palestinians. Good to see the FO are keeping up standards.
It’s muslims that are today’s terrorists, rapists and murderers. (29 more charged yesterday with child abduction and rape.) How many is that now?
Costing us a fortune in security and policing.

Who owns what in Palestine/Israel is debatable, the land has changed hands many times over the last four thousand years.
But I support those that are not a threat to me, my neighbours and my countrymen.
The others belong in hell.
The ones who let them in without time limited work permits and allowed the proliferation of mosques along with vast areas of our towns being taken over also belong in hell.

Why was covid so persistent in leicester ?
We await the enquiry … but we know the answers
I know I have said this before, but it needs saying again.
Herd Immunity; Dawinian theory in practice. It is not concerned about the individual, but the survival of The Herd.
Faced with a challenge, whether it be disease, famine drought, or whatever, those individuals that cannot adapt either die, or fail to breed. Sounds harsh? Maybe, but the survivors are the stronger for it.
Lives can be saved/prolonged artificially by use of vaccines, mineral supplements, subsidies and so on, but that is only putting off the inevitable.
With the current Covid hysteria over a virus that is over 95% survivable, even for my age group, the cure has become more deadly than the disease. Our “Leaders” are now more concerned about the survival of their own particular clique than the fate of those they are supposed to represent.
They can never admit that they might have made a mistake.
Even before the Covid ‘Pandemic’ it was ridiculously difficult to get an appointment to see my G.P. I had to ring bang on 8am in the morning. Not a minute before or after. Stand at the phone for ages, only to be told eventually, all appointments have been taken, try again tomorrow.
I think the underlying problem is that G.P.s have far too many patients each. Added to which there was some sort of cock up over their pension contributions so some reduced their hours to avoid working more, for less pay, ‘in their hand’ so to speak.
There are other bureaucratic cock ups in the N.H.S. as well, causing a shortage of people choosing to be G.P.s.
As for the ‘browser of my choice’ to consult – well unfortunately Dr. Vernon Coleman can not be consulted !!
The Sacred Cow never was worth saving ’tis true but unfortunately it is all we have.
Oh yes SAGE strikes again. Well we knew that would happen didn’t we.
All five female GPs in our practice are part-timers, some two, some three days p.wk. Family and friends, all in different parts of the country, say it’s much the same where they are.
How can we hope to have even a remotely workable GP service with so many doctors not prepared to put the time in? Thanks to Gordon Brown’s mistakes they are paid so much that it’s possible to work two days a week and still pick up a tidy sum.
You’re right – it’s not worth saving, at least not in its present very costly bureaucratic form. Socialised medicine, like all things socialised, doesn’t work for the patients’ benefit. When it began it was a very different service, according to my mother. Years ago, if you were too unwell to go to the surgery the doctor would visit you at home, usually on the same day, and you could always see your own doctor, who was knowledgeable about your general health and problems. When my dad came out of hospital after a few weeks following a road accident, he was sent to a rest home for a month to rehabilitate – all covered by his NHS insurance contributions. All prescriptions were free, and every area had a district nurse who could be called upon at need. Nurses were trained on the wards with day-release, so they knew patient care from the basics up and didn’t imagine they were mini-doctors. There were Cottage Hospitals in every town to deal with smaller sugical procedures, and nursing-homes for the birthing of new babies.
Nothing about the modern day NHS compares with the old one. I don’t think most people realise just how much we have lost since it began.
That’s because GP Practices are paid per registered patient. Ours now has around 30,000. With several part-time doctors there is no way they can see the people who need to see the doctors.
But the practice is paid per registered patient – so what do the partners in that practice care; they are raking in the profits.
Most people I talk to are ‘obeyers’ follow the rules and you’ll be free on June 21. Ignore any argument that most of the measures are largely useless and just to stifle your life. Anything that destroys the illusion is good and the new threats of lockdown are welcome. People can’t overlook reality forever.
My GP used to use an on-line application called “Ask My GP”. It was a great way to get a response and book an appointment if necessary. A few weeks ago I received an email telling me that they saw no further use for it and it would be binned.
Yet another example of the unfit-for-purpose NHS.
Palestine. The founders of the present State of Israel should have thought about the consequences of occupying the State of Palestine and thus causing the present hatred against them by the Palestinians. The Palestinians only want their occupied land back.
For the military historians, when did the British army fight in Israel. NO, the army fought in Palestine, a part of the world now known as Israel.
I fully agree with your comments. If I were a Palestinian I would feel nothing but hatred towards those who had stolen my land.
I agree. Why couldn’t the Jews have all been settled in the USA. There’s so much space there that they could have hada whole state to themselves !!! Why did USA and UK advance a project that they must have known was a recipe for big big trouble? Did they want big trouble?
Party political donations? Big Jewish banking/ finance/corporate clout? Importance of oil in Mid East / geo-politics?
On the other hand David. If I’m still allowed to use words like Muslim and Jewish.
Consider the VAST areas of land available to Muslims and the tiny area available to Jews.
Also, why haven’t the Palestinian Muslims settled and cultivated and made a ‘going concern’ of their land?
I’m not an expert, by any means and I do understand that our Colonial Office, plus others actually betrayed their own Lawrence of Arabia and the rebel Sheiks wanting to get out of the Turkish Empire, at the end of WW1. Then they repeated the mistakes after WW2 and the Holocaust.
But for heavens sake, it is now 2021.
Pauline, I am not a woke person although I woke up this morning and made myself a coffee. I am also a firm believer than history should not be changed, it is the future that counts.
I avoided using the words Muslims and Jews because I was speaking about two states, Palestine and Israel (occupied Palestine). Religion plays a hard line part especially when extremist, zealots, hard line believers are involved. I do not understand why the present state of Israel was allowed to be and by the United Nations.
Palestine and Occupied Palestine is partly a clash of cultures, Islamic and the West where the West supported the occupation of Palestine to appease Jews. Very little appears to have been done about stopping the continual expansion of the occupied ares. The Palestinians are native to the region, most of the European descendant Israelis were not native to the area
I know it is 2021, what progress has been made over the last 70 plus years to restore a large area of occupied Palestine to the Palestinians, there has been a continual reduction I would suggest that Black Lives Matter forms an off-shoot Palestinian Lives Matter.
David Turgoose. I haven’t a clue what you are on about.
Pauline
In a few words. Israel has occupied most of the the State of Palestine.
The United Nation approved approved the formation of the State of Israel. The Palestinian population was totally ignored in favour of the self centred religious concern of European Jews.
The present conflict in Palestine (Gaza Strip) is a result of that self centred occupation.
Before I forget the state of Israel is bigger than the state of Palestine. The Palestinians were already settled in the area and cultivating the area regardless of being in the Ottoman Empire. Get your facts right.
Pauline. Some scholars claim that the flood of Zionist Ashkhanazi (Khazarian) Eastern European Jews (Exodus) that make up the majority of Israel today and went to Palestine in the 1920s,30s, 40s and 50s are not the genetic descendents of Abraham, Isac and Jacob. These same scholars claim this grouping of Khazars simply adopted Judaism as their faith a thousand or so years ago.
All scholars appear to accept that the (Semite) Sephardic Jews who were spread across the Levant and through N.Africa to Spain and Portugal can trace their lineage to the Hebrew tribes.
The Separdic Jews of Palestine lived happily alongside the Arabs under the Ottoman Empire for centuries. I read somewhere that the indigenous Jews of Palestine did not want the Ashkhanazi Jews to come to Palestine because they feared their rabid Zionism would destroy their peaceful co-existence with the Arabs. How right they were!
Few people know (or choose not to accept) that many of groups of ultra orthodox Jews still do not recognise the legitamacy of the state of Israel.
https://www.myjewishlearning.com/article/ultra-orthodox-anti-zionist/
Having worked with many Palestinians in exile whilst working in North Africa I heard the other side of the argument from the Western media (much of it Jewish owned) and decided to do some research on the subject for myself.
I come down on the side of the Palestinians in their claim that Israel continues to steal their lands.
But Jake B, that theory that Ashkenazi Jews are Khazars rather than descendants of Jews from when the Romans dispersed the Jews, after they crushed the second Jewish revolt (round about 130 AD), could be untrue. That theory could have been invented to say that Israel is not the ancient homeland of Ashkenazi Jews.
Ralph. I did stress that researchers disagree on this issue. It is for the individual to research and come to their own conclusion. During my research I never came across any proof whatsoever of a genetic link to the tribes of Israel. You would think that Jewish organisations could conduct DNA tests or some similar gentic scanning that could prove a link. Were the ancient tribes of Israel blond and ginger haired with blue eyes as many of the Askhanazi appear to be. They don’t look one bit like Semitic people to me.
Thank you Jake Bennett, for pouring oil on troubled waters! As far as I’m concerned any way!
mary also made a good point – got me thinking – it was stupid, or suspicious(?) that U.N. planted European displaced Jews, in a new ‘Nation State’, amongst Asian Cultures and Nations that were bound to resent, to say the least, it’s presence!
Something about war always provides a means of control over human beings, comes to mind.
A little bit off topic but for a while now I’ve been trying to find something to sum up the useless, ignorant Liberal Left Karens that seem intent on selling us out, I may have just found it.
A one minute video of a scene during the gasoline shortages in the US of a woman using a plastic shopping bag or similar to store gasoline.
“God help us”

This sums up the intellect of all of the Lefty Karens that think that they know best!
A few years ago I would have said this was a spoof and nobody could be that stupid. Not so sure now.
Spoof!! What in a world where Dianne Abbot is a senior member of a major political party.
I nearly replied to this but perhaps pouring petrol on the fire is not best policy 🙂
Poor Dianne is simply another uncomprehending victim that the hidden establishment uses to try to wake us all up to our centrally-controlled pseudo-democratic tyranny.
The US government has had to advise the public not to do this. It’s apparently pretty widespread.
The benefits of fossil fuels. Your supply can be easily cut off.
Even in the USA.
