Never mind ‘that’ interview – keep being afraid, very afraid!

Just because some ‘other news’ story is still filling the front pages of our MSM doesn’t mean that covid and lockdowns have gone away. There are some rather pernicious pieces which have been dropped into the covid brew. Regarding that ‘other news’ story, I shall say this only once: if the combined MSM weren’t providing breathing space for it, with their wall-to-wall coverage, this ‘interview event’ would have fizzled out already.

And so – back to covid. It is quite amazing, but there it is: the covidians in government, MSM and NHS aren’t singing from the same hymn sheet. In a Sunday TV show we were told by a PHE boss that the autumn would-could-might become as bad as the one last year and that ‘we must be prepared’. Now, in a report about falling covid hospital admissions we read:

“Nightingale Hospitals in England will be shut down next month, the NHS said last night amid dramatic declines in Covid-19 hospitalisations and death and case numbers. The NHS described the network as the “ultimate insurance policy” but they remained largely empty throughout most of the pandemic due to staffing shortages. […] The government provided funding last summer to keep the temporary hospitals open until March.” (paywalled link)

Not one word about the possibility that this dramatic decline in covid hospital cases might have been due to the mass vaccination of the elderly, the most vulnerable. It seems this simply just happened, a sort of strange coincidence. However, this result doesn’t mean BJ will ‘open up early’, oh no! He’s keeping to the ‘science’, ably supported by another PHE person who told the reporters at yesterday’s government PR ‘event’ that ‘things could still spiral out of control’. In a nice little goalpost-shifting exercise we’re told that

“officials were still waiting to see concrete evidence of national hospital admission rates staying down as a result of the jabs.” (link)

I’ll ask a naive question: if the covid authorities ‘still can’t be sure’ – does that mean the mass vaccination with whatever vaccine isn’t working? Shouldn’t we be told? Here’s another hint that, apparently, the covid ’authorities’ don’t care about those sinking numbers. At that same PR performance, BJ told the part of the MSM not occupied by ‘yon interview’ that:

“people and businesses would “trade haste in favour of security and certainty about dates”. He pointed to recent rises in cases across Europe as a sign of what could soon happen here, insisting that infections were “still very high by the standards of last year”. (link, paywalled)

Now there’s strange! We know from another report that mass vaccination ‘across Europe’ has been abysmal and still is – see the nice list in this report (link)on Ms vdLeyen and her hapless EU Commission still being hell-bent on preventing the Oxford vaccine ‘leaving’ the EU even though covid health authorities in EU member states aren’t even using those they’ve got as Ms vdLeyen begged Pres Biden to please give the EU some of their spare Oxford vaccine doses. Words fail me, as so often when ‘covid’ and ‘EU’ appear in the same report.

There’s another decidedly odd aspect touched upon by BJ and his PHE sidekick yesterday. It’s about the schools opening. We’re told that

“Johnson said there would be an “inevitable” increase in infection with the return of schools, but insisted: “We think it’s manageable, we think it’s right, we think we’re prudent.” Harries [PHE] said schools reopening would bring extra infections but this was “just as likely” to be from people meeting at school gates as in class. […] Harries insisted that mass testing would make schools “inherently safer”. But she said there “may be a very short period” at the start of the testing programme where a “larger number of children” could be forced home to self-isolate.” (link, paywalled)

Why they still think that mass testing makes us ‘safe’ is something I cannot fathom. BJ and the PHE person seem to think that self-quarantine of school children due to mass testing is acceptable even though they clearly mention that cases might rise ‘because of mingling at the school gates’ – no, that argument escapes me.

It seems that the acres of articles about how kids have been damaged for years to come  by lockdown hasn’t found an echo in the covid empire. That lot is still pursuing a covert  ‘no covid’ strategy. That lot knows full well they have the power to give with one hand and take away with the other. This is nicely documented in the following quote, taken from The Times’ second article on that book about covid we wrote about yesterday (link). The concluding sentences in this quote say it all:

“The Eat Out to Help Out initiative was hailed as a triumph for chancellor Rishi Sunak, but it was too effective, according to researchers from Warwick University, who found that it had increased Covid-19 cases by between 8 per cent and 17 per cent. The report’s author, Professor Thiemo Fetzer, wasn’t alone in concluding that the scheme was a mistake. “It wasn’t about support for restaurants, otherwise it would have counted for takeaways,” a Sage source said. “It was to break our fear and it worked.” He added: “We were obviously going to have to reverse that. It just seemed insane.” (link, paywalled)

Note that this SAGE ‘source’ acknowledges that they knew their ‘fear strategy’, strangling the country, needed to be broken. Even so, they treated this little anti-fear ‘exercise’ as some nationwide laboratory experiment which they could switch off whenever they liked. ‘Insane’ – oh yes, but not the Sunak initiative, no: it’s the SGAEs who clearly were and are insane.

Meanwhile the ‘covid fear’ is being stoked up in another report in the DM. The authors have apparently scoured medical journals from across the world where doctors have written about ‘diseases’ which allegedly were triggered by covid. Yes – “we” must be afraid, very afraid, but thankfully in the same article there’s a lovely report on Brian Blessed’s response to the DM ‘health quiz’. Scroll down here and enjoy – it made me grin!

I leave you with some serious news from Germany. The Times reports that a German publisher had to pulp a children’s book published last summer because it said the virus came from China:

”The picture book, ‘A Corona Rainbow for Anna and Moritz’, was released last summer to help younger children understand the changes the pandemic was bringing to their lives. It was based on scientific advice from a tropical medicine institute in Hamburg. At one point in the book, Anna and Moritz’s father says: “The virus comes from China and has spread out from there across the whole world.” (link, paywalled)

There was a concerted campaign in the last few weeks, by ‘concerned Chinese parents living in Germany. As that book was published last summer, one might well ask ‘what took them so long’. One might also wonder (not!)  about the power behind this concerted campaign:

“Over the past week […] a series of one-star reviews posted on the book’s Amazon page, some using the same phrases, accused the authors of “spreading racism among children in Germany”. The Chinese consulate in Hamburg said it had lodged “stern representations” with the publisher.” (link, paywalled)

For background, see the headlines for the Wall Street Journal report of four days ago:

“WHO Investigators to Scrap Plans for Interim Report on Probe of Covid-19 Origins – U.S.-China tensions rise over investigation as group of scientists presses for fresh inquiry, including into lab escape theory” (link, paywalled).

Well, this gives a whole new meaning to that ‘No Covid’ strategy: it’s now the ‘No Chinese Covid’ strategy. Clearly, Chinese citizens living anywhere in Western countries can be corralled by the long arm of Beijing to mount a campaign in order to suppress any mentioning of the covid origin. It seems that the CCP has learned from the West, using ‘racist!’ as a club to suppress Free Speech.

So let’s be afraid, very afraid – not of the virus but of the ongoing destruction of our free society. However, for as long as I can, I shall call it “WuFlu”.

KBO!
