I’m furious beyond words.

We’ve heard or read some commentators mumbling about politicians being out of touch with us, the people. We’re aware of the ongoing campaign in the Westminster MSM` to heave Sir Kneeler into No 10. We have begun to realise that there is an unholy alliance between anonymous Whitehall sources and their gossip-recipients in the editorial offices in the Westminster MSM newsrooms. However, today’s ‘news’ simply go beyond the normal ineptitude of those calling themselves ‘journalists’, an ineptitude we’ve become so used to.

Firstly, let’s look at the fare presented by said papers on the front pages of their print editions this morning (link). They’re all about economic gloom and doom, from ‘recession’ to ‘bank rates will have to rise’ to a rise in Capital Gains Tax in order to ‘fill the hole’ in the budget.

Next, let’s look at what we can garner from the online editions. There’s the report in the DT headlined

 “Jeremy Hunt set to launch capital gains tax raid – Savers, landlords and entrepreneurs face tax hit in Autumn Statement as Chancellor tries to plug £50bn hole in public finance” (paywalled link)

We’re told that Hunt and Sunak are agreed that ‘the broadest shoulders’ should bear the brunt of efforts to shore up the public finances’. Then there’s that rise in interest rates – something which will certainly affect those ‘broad shoulders’ which people paying off their mortgages clearly possess. The Times writes:

“Britain is facing its longest recession since the 1920s, the Bank of England warned as it announced the largest interest rate rise for three decades. The Bank increased interest rates by 0.75 percentage points to 3 per cent, the highest level in 15 years, as it sought to rein in inflation.” (link, paywalled)

Apparently, households will be ‘worse off by £800 next year’. Strangely enough none of those ‘reporters’ added the alleged £800pa to the £2,000pa heating costs. Even more strange is how the MSM are treating these ‘budget black holes’ as if they were an Act of God. And then there are the uber-strange remarks by the current Governor of the BoE:

“The Governor of the Bank of England has taken on money markets with a warning that interest rates will not rise as high as they have bet – and issued a rebuke to lenders that mortgage costs do “not need to rise as they have done”. Andrew Bailey said that borrowing costs will peak at a lower level than traders are predicting, even as he announced the biggest interest rate rise in 30 years. The Bank put rates up by 0.75 percentage points to 3pc on Thursday, the largest increase since Black Wednesday in 1992. However, Mr Bailey said that increasing rates to the 5.25pc level recently expected by markets would trigger a two-year recession and cut household real incomes by £800 in 2023.” (paywalled link)

Clearly, the ‘mood music’, played by Sunak, Hunt and Bailey and faithfully reproduced by the Broadsheets, is that the dire economic situation is somehow due to the dark machinations of ‘money markets’ and banks. Yon ‘budget black hole’ which we all must strive to fill is of course also due to an Act of God, nothing to do with the covid years. And anyone not on bennies has ‘broad shoulders’ and will happily pay up. £800pa are peanuts!

Moreover, Bailey and the BoE are entirely innocent, helplessly driven hither and yon by those ‘money markets’ and by politicians, especially by Miz Truss. Yes, her 45 days in office are the sole cause of the financial mayhem:

“Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey blames Liz Truss’s mini-budget for leaving Britain ‘hours’ from financial meltdown – Andrew Bailey said UK was ‘hours’ from financial Armageddon after mini-budget” (link)

Now excuse me for a moment: hasn’t Mr Bailey been the governor of the BoE for some time now? He certainly didn’t take on that job only as Truss entered No 10. So are we to believe there are no analysts at the BoE who might have been able to forecast the effects of inflation and energy prices? Extraordinary!

After all, the huge rise in energy prices kicked off a year ago. Inflation  also wasn’t talked about by those ‘experts’. Moreover, those of us who do buy their own groceries and aren’t on ‘expenses’ already felt inflation rising well before those sanctions were implemented – those sanctions which aren’t mentioned any longer. And are we to believe that the BoE masterminds never meet or talk to mandarins, ‘top politicians’ and MSM chief editors? Really?

What made me so furious were three reports in this monring’s MSM. Even as I write these sentences my blood starts boiling again. Firstly, there’s the ‘weepy’ in The Times, headlined: “Second group of migrants abandoned at Victoria coach station” (link, paywalled). Oh dear. Clearly, some civil serpents couldn’t find proper hotel accommodation for them – in London. Clearly, yon civil serpents did their best to alleviate the overcrowding at Marston – that was so inhumane, after all.

So now see this – don’t read with mugs or tumblers in your hands or next to your PC, and no apologies for the lengthy quote:

“Migrants could get £6,000 payouts as the Home Office faces legal action over their alleged unlawful detention at the crisis-hit Manston asylum processing centre. The charity Detention Action disclosed on Thursday that it had sent an urgent pre-action letter to Suella Braverman, the Home Secretary, on behalf of a woman migrant detained “beyond statutory time limits” at the centre. The charity, which halted the Government’s Rwanda asylum flights after legal action, also cited the camp’s  “egregiously defective” conditions including infectious diseases due to overcrowding and poor sanitation, inadequate safeguards for children and allowing men, women and children to sleep alongside each other. If successful, Channel migrants at the centre could get £6,000 compensation for being unlawfully detained for 24 hours under the legal precedent of established case law, tapering down per day for any further detention time.” (paywalled link)

You do the maths, given that there are allegedly 4,000 invaders stuck at Marston! It’s irrelevant to that ‘charity’ that there are hardly any women and children to be found. According to that report, they wrote their letter on behalf of one (!) woman, not two, ten or more. 

And now, compare and contrast with this horror story in the DM. Here are the headlines:

“Britain’s cost of living crisis laid bare: Warning pensioner who heats entire house with a single-bar fire and can only afford to eat toast will freeze to death this winter – as handyman rallies colleagues to help – Shocking photographs shared online show dilapidated conditions of Irene’s house in Huyton, near Liverpool – One shows the tiny electric heater she uses to try and heat her entire home and another a hole in her wall” (link)

Words utterly fail me. How callous must the Westminster swamp dwellers be that they weep about ‘poor invaders’ but are fine with letting our own pensioners rot! Wouldn’t those £6,000 demanded as ‘compensation’ for invaders kept at Marston be better spent helping this and other pensioners up and down the country? Will the Westminster MSM spend time and pixels on investigating the plight of our own poor pensioners? Will they heck!

And where are the Labour Mayors who surely ought to be aware of the plight of this and other pensioners living in their fair cities? How many more of them are there, whose savings will be raided because having ‘savings’ means they have ‘broad shoulders’? 

It is beyond belief that more is being demanded, more is being done for those ‘poor’ criminal invaders than for our own poorest! I’m sure the invaders would scorn being put in houses like that of yon poor lady. They’d demand ‘compensation’ should they be made to live on her income. But hey – she’s old, and therefore useless, unlike those strapping young men invading our country so they can live off our money.

I am incandescent with righteous anger. I am speechless with fury. That’s all.
