The spineless ArchBish of C, speaking with forked tongue
Why not copy ‘a campaign’ kicked off by one newspaper – iNews, since you ask – and make it their own, suitable for the Monday morning breakfast! So thought The Times chiefs, and so thought Auntie B’s “staff”, and thus ‘sewage’ is the attention grabber in this morning’s compilation of the MSM front pages (link).
If you’re more military-minded: there are reports about ‘the government’ going to ‘investigate’ possible Chinese balloons flying over the British Isles while the Pentagon confesses they haven’t got a clue. well, that’s what the DT’s online front page is mostly concerned with at 6am.
I was quite intrigued by this headline in the DT: “MPs threatened me over gay marriage, says Archbishop of Canterbury”, so I took a closer look. It wasn’t about MPs trying to prevent the CoE to provide official ‘blessings’ to gay couples: nah, it wasn’t that! Here’s what happened, allegedly:
“The Archbishop of Canterbury claims he was “threatened with parliamentary action” in an attempt to “force same-sex marriage” in the Church of England.” (paywalled link)
According to this article, the Labour MP Ben Bradshaw had this to say:
“He seems to be claiming to the conservative African churches that the baby steps taken last week to tackle homophobia in the Church of England are being forced on him by Parliament, while telling Anglicans here, the majority of whom support same-sex marriage in church, that he and his fellow Bishops can’t go further because it would alienate the Africans.” (paywalled link)
Interesting, isn’t it: the ArchBish speaketh with forked tongue, depending on his audience. There’s more:
“He also appears to blame the pressure to stop discriminating against gay and lesbian Anglicans on the ‘secularisation of the West’ when it is people of faith within the Church of England who are leading the calls for change. I wish the Archbishop would say what he really believed and stick to it, rather than saying different things to different audiences.” (paywalled link)
Meanwhile, there was a ‘secret’ Brexit meeting of ‘cross-bench remainers’. It was so secret that everybody knew about it and that it was reported in yesterday’s Observer. This morning, there’s a whole slew of articles and opinion pieces in the DM, e.g. here, listing all the Labour ‘Big Beasts’ who attended. Steven Glover in his article today has this scary information (my emphasis):
“Sir Olly was recently linked to a top job with Labour. If he takes this up, he will be able to work cheek by jowl with the party’s foreign affairs spokesman, David Lammy, another passionate Remainer who was at the Ditchley shindig. […] Was the Ditchley gathering a stitch-up by the British Establishment in one of its periodic fits of funk? Despite the inclusion of apparently unapologetic Leavers, was its true objective to devise ways of easing us back into the EU? Were Brexiteers present playing the role of Stalin’s ‘useful idiots’?” (link)
‘Sir Olly’ is of course the architect of Ms May’s nearly successful attempts to keep us in: Oily Robinson. There was another top mandarin present, the one sacked by Kwarteng when he was Chancellor for a few days, Sir Tom Scholar. Scary, innit, how they smooch up to Labour. You can find more details about the attendees here.
In their editorial, the DM writes that calling those two ex-civil serpents ‘non-political’ is’ risible’ and observes:
”Otherwise, it was the usual suspects; Remainer business chiefs, a few shadow cabinet ministers and, naturally, Lord Mandelson, without whom no anti-Brexit bash would be complete. All in all, a smug assemblage of arrogant Establishment figures who think they know best.” (link)
It’s rather ironic that Labour looks to be a ‘smug’ part of the self-same ‘arrogant establishment who thinks they know best’: wasn’t this one of their beloved labels for Tories? Isn’t the Labour Red Top, the Daily Mirror, happily indulging in using such labels? On their print front page today they howled that ‘calllous Tories’ cut support for 10,000 NHS ‘heroes’ who have ‘Long Covid’ – scroll down here if you must.
Of course, I did the online equivalent of buying the rag and checked out their online edition. Under the same screaming headline I read (my emphasis):
“Long Covid victims’ lives have been ruined by symptoms that include chest pain, brain fog, headaches, joint pain and depression. But NHS staff off work with Long Covid will be put on half pay for six month from March 1, and face losing their jobs after that. Some NHS Trusts have already fired staff with Long Covid, mainly those, like our two case studies, with a short length of service at the time they fell ill.” (link)
Blimey – I had no idea that the bosses of some NHS Trust were Tories! Aren’t they supposed to be Common-Purpose indoctrinated Labour henchpeople? Perhaps there was ‘guidance’ from the DHSC Tory Boss, about callously withdrawing support from ‘NHS Heroes’! Why weren’t we told?
Nah – let’s throw all economical and financial considerations out of the window when our MSM can work up a froth concocted from ‘smug Tories’ and ‘NHS heroes’. It’ll be so much better under Labour, especially when we recall who invented the creeping, silent tax raises while proudly declaiming that income tax hasn’t been raised, of course not!
I leave you with ‘Coronation News’. The Times reports that “King’s fleet won’t sail to mark coronation” (link, paywalled). Oh dear! What about ‘tradition’? We learn that such fleet reviews were a staple during Queen Victoria’s times, but the tradition of a coronation fleet review only started with King Edward VII in 1902, continued for George V in 1911, George VI in 1937 and for Queen Elizabeth in 1953. That review “involved nearly 200 ships, one of the largest such events of the 20th century.” (link, paywalled)
Some of those ships were from other countries, but even so, I suspect the Palace and the RN would rather not show how pitiful our current First Service has become. But who knows! This sentence left me puzzled: “Neither Buckingham Palace nor the Ministry of Defence denied that there were no plans for a naval review.” (link, paywalled). I
If they denied that there were ‘no plans’, doesn’t that mean there are plans? So there are plans? Please help me out! Perhaps there’ll be a mini-review, with one ship each of the current RN fleet ‘representing’ our maritime might’?
That’s all I have for today. It’s a dispiriting start to the week, with a spineless ArchBish to sewage, Rejoiners and Remain civil serpents, ‘callous Tories’ and NHS ‘heroes’. Be prepared for more ‘no news’ in the next two days. They’ll be buried under a torrent of ‘Valentine’ stuff because our MSM love producing acres of mawkishness. Have a good day.
Nordstream Pipelines – an interesting article from Freenations:
https://freenations.net/usas-nordstream-act-of-war-and-profitable-attack-on-europe/
Off topic but do you realise that Jacob Rees Mogg is a ‘right wing terrorist’ ?!!
‘Prevent’ say so and since prevent is part of the Home Office what they say must be true.
Second article in today’s Daily Sceptic explains all.
Would be funny except it is part of the sad demise of our country and of brexit.
PB- No, J R-M is not far right, he is extreme right by definition.
(Defn. Extreme Right:- anyone to the right of Marx and Engles. (Courtesy bbc)).
Viv, could you tell me why my earlier post has not appeared? If it was my too accurate description of the Gen Sec of the WHO, I can change that. If it was the video that Bitchute blocked in Europe, labelled ‘Incitement to Hatred’, but was actually a report on a committee decision, I can leave that out.
The need to know essence was that the International Health Regulations Review Committee has dropped treaty amendments, proposed for the second time, that would have given the Gen Sec of the WHO unlimited power to decide what is a pandemic and to mandate on all signatory nations, actions he saw fit; which sadly includes us. So cause for limited celebration.
I retrieved it from the spam box where it ended up in because, I assume, of the link you provided. It’s now in it’s rightful place.
Many thanks. Lesson learned. I’ll textify(?) future links.
Sorry Phil I`ve only just come in to this conversation, but if you are talking about the bitchute posting of 13/2/22 9.16am,
I have just clicked it and got through only to be told it is an “incitement to hatred”
So in effect. I still haven`t heard what the brave Australians have been doing, apart from your words.
When Mark Steyn was on GB tv, he did appear to have contact with a woman reporter from there who I took to be a skeptic, but unfortunately I could never make out what she was saying anyway
I remember at school, we had to go to assembly each morning and sing hymns, the Christian faith was rammed down our throats but at a very early age I decided that I didn’t want to know about religion, any religion.
Since my schooldays, we’ve witnessed our pious church leaders completely wither before the assault of globalism and Islam, after all of their preaching they didn’t amount to much and sold us out.
I have absolutely no respect for any religion, including Christianity and that pervy looking Archbishop of Canterbury.
It’s interesting to note that Christianity is a relatively recent invasion of Britain, before this our country was largely Pagan and so I like to think of myself as a true Brit. Paganism, Heathenism and other beliefs of the time were all linked by their non adherence to Judaeo-Christianity.
Pagan, Heathen, perhaps I could give those some thought but certainly I have no time for the Archbishop of Canterbury or any other modern day religious leader and certainly not Chrislam.
It looks like as a child I made the right choice.
Flyer:
We should “condemn the singer not the song.” Isn’t our loss of the values of our traditional religion and transcendental beliefs a big causal factor in our present plight? I’m not sure I like living in “Post Christian Britain.”
I understand the churches have like every other institution in the West, been hollowed out , hijacked, infiltrated by globalists and freemasons. Isn’t the idea of Chrislam a Masonic notion, since freemason believe all religions are equal? We need to get rid of the hijackers not the churches themselves. The loss of transcendence is another feature of Masonic thought?
Writer Hilaire Belloc said it is not possible for us, after our transition from paganism to Christianity, to simply return to the sort of paganism that existed before, and that the New Paganism would be evil. In describing it he uncannily predicted 100 years ago the evils that are happening now.
“The spineless ArchBish of C, speaking with forked tongue”. Only to be expected from a “church leader” who is not a Christian by any stretch of the imagination.
How did a heretic become the Archbishop of Canterbury? Surely with his beliefs he should have declined the position.
Political appointment rather than theological and besides that the money is good. Why would any Christian go to a Cof E church nowadays? Far better to attend a free church with lay preachers.
Yes, it seems the Archbishop speaks with a forked tongue but is he any different to those MPs in the Conservative Party (Andersen, Redwood, Baker, Patel, Braverman, Davis, Davies,
and Kemi or whatever her name is) who talk tough to the centre Right vote one minute then fall in line with the Party whips the next minute.
Some significant good news for a change, although it may feel like only a temporary stay of execution.
Last year the WHO tried to pass a new pandemic treaty giving the Ethiopian Communist in China’s pocket, Tedros, almost unfettered mandatory powers over member states; carte blanche to label anything he likes as a pandemic and invoke any measures he likes to deal with it. That update of the treaty was defeated, largely by African nations.
Relentless as ever they brought it back. But under robust protest from some quarters, not our government of course, and I don’t believe that is the whole story of the climb-down, the International Health Regulations Review Committee nevertheless has dropped the proposed changes.
I don’t believe for one moment that this will go away. It will come back in different guise. The war will go on, but it is a rare and important win of one battle. A breathing space for more and more truths to emerge.
The video below is Senator Malcolm Roberts of Australia – who has been a rock, an absolute hero, along with one or two others like Craig Kelly and Riccardo Bosi, in fighting Australia’s version of the totalitarian nightmare – giving the details.
https://www.bitchute.com/video/5MsttShSFzqS/
It is blocked in the UK, where Bitchute says it contains “Incitement to hatred,” seriously, even though it is a report on information in the public domain. Set your VPN to the U.S. to view it, or Japan or Australia itself; anywhere outside Europe.
Apparently the UK citizen must not get wind that our government will no longer have WHO cover for any new measures it may want to bring in (at least for now.) It will be their decision alone and they will be accountable for the consequences.
PoS- unelected and unaccountable . . . where have I heard that before? Not another one for goodness sake.
Phil O: 2nd para:
This is far worse than the worst of our worst nightmares. I’ve been waking up in a cold sweat over it in the early hours of the morning, many times. So evil I can’t take it in. If this threat did materialise, the only way it cold be defeated would be if all those in authority (doctors, government, schools etc etc etc), refused to implement whatever evil mandates Tedros might inflict on us. But judging from their track record so far I have little hope of that.
Re bitchute channel. It can be opened if you cut & paste it into facebook.
Thank you Vivian, Spine like a cooked noodle ? thats filed away for an appropriate time!
We could not have a review of the fleet – most are in dock broken and the few left would not fill a small bay, certainly would not look GRAND!
The broken fleet is a result of buying from foreigners so its time we had our own shipyards back!
MD- Having seen shipbuilding in the Far East, I can’t see it happening in GB.
Huge land area, meganormous investment, the big stuff all computer controlled, plus reputation.
Far East builds close to cost and to delivery. It shall be a hard act to follow.
Hard act or not we should not dismiss it as impossible; just keep the trade unions out and consider the benefits, financial and other.
