It was bound to happen: about two weeks ago I caught the common~ or garden~lurgi which was making the rounds. We all know, it takes two weeks to get rid off, or 14 days if you see your GP. During these days I didn’t, couldn’t, read or write but some headlines of current events did catch my attention anyway. These ‘events’ still engage the usual suspects in our lovely MSM. I’m sure the Tory footfolk were engaged in telling the TV footfolk yesterday what to think or make of it.
I wonder though if anyone saw the parallels between the ‘Affaire Djokovic’ and the ‘Booze Parties at No 10’. No, I’m not suffering from post-illness brain fog. I suggest that, having been forced to ‘abstain’ from the daily hysterics our MSM love to generate, I might have gained a clearer view. Let me explain …
Both ‘events’ have been made to look to be about ‘covid rules’ and about ‘the privileged’ feeling entitled to break them while we peasants, here or in Australia, were forced to obey. They permitted us plebs to be angry and to let off steam. In this way we didn’t ask if those ‘rules’ were sensible nor why they were there in the first place. Having been permitted to rail and fume we didn’t ask if, for the sake of the sacred covid rules, it was acceptable to trample all over our civic liberties. Instead we are made to feel very superior to the No 10 boozers and to that tennis celebrity. We are made to feel virtuous by insisting that all follow ‘teh rulz’.
Here’s one of the odd things: there was no comparative outcry in the media about the ‘rule breakers’ at the G7 summit in June last years. There was no outcry in the MSM about the ‘rule breakers’ at COP26. Can you remember if anyone asked about the ‘covid status’ of the likes of Bezos jetting in?
Similarly, isn’t it remarkable that our intrepid meejah are incapable of finding out anything about booze parties not just by Labour politicians but far more so by ‘Newsroom and Meejah Workers’ in their offices? Did none of the ‘journalists’ in ITV, SKY, the BBC, in the Times, Telegraph, Mail and the rest have office parties in the last two years? Really?
Asking this is not whataboutery – it’s rather me wondering why those sitting in the glass houses that are political party offices or MSM newsrooms believe they should be able to get away with their transgressions because they aren’t, after all, the government … But why is nothing being made of that Welsh tinpot dictator dancing without mask and stuff in November last year (link)? “Wrong timing” – or perhaps because it would been racist, seeing that they were celebrating Diwali?
Here’s another question: why are our MSM in such a sanctimonious uproar about these booze parties which took place in 2020 and 2021? Did they really not know? Did the Westminster Village gossipers not talk about this amongst themselves? Was it just piety which made them refrain to mention ‘a party’ a day before Prince Philip’s funeral at that time? Why are these ‘parties’ important now?
Moreover, why are the Westminster denizens, especially in the MSM, not asking if the No 10 covid rulers were happy to disregard their rules? Did they know these rules were useless, superfluous, irrelevant? Isn’t it outrageous that the covid emperors are only now talking about perhaps scrapping covid passports and the rest of their restrictions when the ‘No 10 Parties’ showed that, actually, there is and was no danger? Do we really believe that being ‘in government’ makes certain people immune?
I believe the uproars about ‘rule breakers’, in No 10 and by that tennis star, have been fuelled and manufactured not just in order to allow us t let off steam but in order to make us agree that these rules were justified and must be obeyed by all, or else.
Trampling over their own justitiary, as the Aussie government did, has thus become acceptable. After all, when their PM says that Djokovic’s presence in the bubble that is tha Australian Open is a danger to the health of all of Australia, it’s evident that it’s no longer about ‘following the science’ but about enforcing ‘rules’ which are no longer supported by ‘teh science’, abandoning the Rule of Law. What chance does an ordinary Aussie have when their PM can declare someone to be ‘a danger to the nation’s health’?
It’s not just in Oz where the covid rulers are bending their own laws to suit their political agenda. In Germany, the new Bundestag has decided that all unjabbed MPs can no longer sit in the chamber but can only ‘follow proceedings’ from the visitors’ stands (paywalled link, in German). Never mind their own covid law, the ‘3 G’ rule according to which you’ve got to show that you’re either jabbed, or have had covid or are tested -ve that day! Who needs rules when it’s about banning the hated AfD from participating.
Also interesting is this question: why is the the instigator of that most heinous ‘BYOB invitation’ barely mentioned? Is it because he’s a civil serpent (see e.g. this link)? Are the mandarins trying to protect one of their own? Also, isn’t it strange that suddenly our MSM have hardly got space to report about ‘Our Overwhelmed NHS’ and about covid deaths just at the time when it looks as if those covid restrictions might be scrapped?
Is the aim of all this brouhaha, from Djokovic to Johnson and No 10 not really about ‘punishing’ rule breakers but about making us peasants cling to those rules rather than questioning their validity? Is it about making us accept that ‘rulz’ will stay, if perhaps in a more lenient form? Is the removal of Johnson only a secondary albeit welcome consideration? Are the faceless covid tsars hoping to get Starmer into No 10 because Labour has shown itself to be the ‘Party of Rule Enforcers’, like the German equivalent which is now governing Germany?
And finally – why is all the green stuff, the ‘energy costs’ and rise in cost-of-living, not newsworthy any longer? Do the green ecofanatics believe that they can take over, using the Nudge Unit, to better enforce their policies, with Starmer at the helm? After all, it was their own Milipede, a.k.a. Ed Miliband, who created the ‘green levy’ on our home energy bills.
Therefore I regard the meejah uproar about the No 10 ‘parties’ – as if no one in Westminster had parties during those times! – and the ‘Djokovic Rule-Breaker’ as a concerted effort to prevent us from asking if these rules were justified in the first place and as an attempt to soften us up for a regime change, with Starmer to be the ‘golden boy’ to drive us deeper into the quagmire of ‘rulz’, accompanied by further losses of our liberties.
Have we truly become a nation of ‘rule takers’ because we’ve become too lazy to think and ask questions?
Yes, I believe you are saying Phil, that ‘they’ knew it was a sham and they embarked on a complete con which with the aid of an enabling clause, a £10k bribe to the opposition and a fertile nudge unit and an apathetic feebly compliant peasantry, they have been able to get away with it far too long
Unfortunately I don’t believe we can ever reverse the situation
“What’s not to like” perfect. Then they could always merge their operation with the MOD or am I being slow.
Nigel Farage’ programme on GB News this evening was very good. Asking searching questions of Johnson’s conduct over parties in contravention of Covid rules, his decision of deploying the Royal Navy in the English Channel to deter illegal migrants which in effect will just mean an even bigger taxi service into Dover, and the end of the BBC licence fee. His guest on Talking Pints was Conservative MP for Sutton Coldfield Andrew Bridgen. If only all Conservative MP’s were like him, we wouldn’t have the problems we have right now. I sincerely hope the end result of all this, is the dismissal of the utterly Liberal wet Boris Johnson and the election of a ‘proper’ principled Conservative. Also new allegations by Domonic Cummings this evening that Johnson lied to the House of Commons over his knowledge of some of the parties held at Downing Street. I sincerely hope that the Big Dog is on his way out…….
Biased Broadcasting Coy – have to slim down and shape up like the rest of the modern world. Response – boo-hoo, it was a big boy beat me up.
Pruning of all the equality departments, black lives matter, anti-British clique, far left party promotion unit, Marx and Engles appreciation dept, and so on.
No more strictly come baking; no more selling your house on ice skates; no more football; no more sell you car with Arthur Daily; no more Promoting Woke Activists; no more football; no more Rick Stein’s Apprentice; no more left wing only news lunchtime, lefties at six, Marxists at ten; football with the police on the M1, no more whose antiques ancestry; football again; a day with sewage workers (repeat), food progs, dancing, selling, buying
All those well made expensive period programmes all gone? What’s not to like?
Meanwhile, Guardian confirms recruitment of bbc applicants with blue or green eyes shall continue to be automatically rejected. People with four limbs and two working eyes – yor avin a larf. Extra upticks if you use a wheelchair. Anyone without a permanent suntan doesn’t meet the 20 pct indigenous to 80 immigrant ratio need not apply.
Biscotte…………and no more Gary Lineker, who is THE most tedious presenter of all.
Just seen a report where DomCum has firmly put the boot into the PM – with steel toecaps its unlikely Johnsons will have any more children.
From what he says, PM and the ‘spousal unit adviser’ (which is which?), are not long for this government.
Dom kept his powder dry until exactly the right moment. Clearly more to DomCum ‘leaving’ than meets the eye.
I like your comment Phil. It is certainly odd if the tennis player’s lawyer did not mention the international laws being broken. Does this match Viv’s suggestion that it is another distraction? It may be just the case that it reinforces the Australian tyranny. The last line of the article sums up the huge disappointment I have, “become too lazy to think and ask questions”.
For me that is why we are in this mess. Not because there are evil people greedy people and psychopathic people, that will always be the case, but because a large amount of the so-called civilised or first world public have become too comfortable and lazy. A hall mark of the final stages of Alexander Tyler’s civilisation cycle.

But of course we are too intelligent for that what with our science and technology.
Were the No.10 parties really in breach of Covid Rules? Is it possible that, under Section 73 (2) of the “Public Health Control of Diseases Act 1984”, the Covid Rules do not apply to Government departments and Royal property? No doubt this will be considered in the forthcoming investigations.
Yeah, it’s a clever blighter this virus. It knows to threaten you if you stand up in a restaurant, but not if you sit down, for example. In Wales it’s a danger if you go to work, but not in a pub. I would suggest that whether rules applied or where they applied, is now quite irrelevant. What it shows is that they knew all along that the narrative they imposed on us little people was a sham. In a nutshell: Fear (and deprivation of every kind) for us but not for them.

I am now quite confused. So must nearly everybody be. So, We need a time-line. I keep asking for a text book, or at least a detective or two to seperate fact from vast volumes of fiction ( lies, leeks,Media, etc ), and establish reality from from the rest. You would think politics would want it instead of rather foolish select committees years late and.amongst sympathy..etc. You would think that politicians would want something similar to base their actions. Unfortunately this does not seem to be acceptable even in the Hopeful Deluded like UKIP..
TG Spokes……..Leeks??? I mean Johnson is thick as a leek, if he thinks he’s going to get away with this, with the setting up of Operation Save Big Dog and Operation Red Meat. I have never laughed so much when I heard this on my car on Saturday morning. I see UKIP gets a mention yet again, a party that has zero influence on the events of today.
Colin UKIP is there awaiting people like yourself before they fall into Alexander Tyler’s civilisation cycle.
7. Apathy to dependence. 8. Dependence to bondage (Kindly posted by Kim)
Ask not what UKIP can do for you but what you can do for UKIP.
Colin, I try very hard to find and explore various strategies or maneuvres or people to result in stronger country loved and admired as it was when I was young ( or at least in 2015 ).The entire colossal and probable terminal damage is by politics. Unfortunately politics is now the only escape. So one has to get ones hands dirty and examine every scrap of information and try and fit it into the possible scenarios and strategies that could work. It is possible, even probable. Unhappily all I can do is talk or type and not even those particularly well. So even ukip has to be considered just in case a suitable figure could magically appear out of the humdrum. It doesn’t seem likely., but if one does ,! several local branches are not dead ..
Any alternative to Boris is certain to be a long route back into the EU, but deservidly sneered at all the way.
Johnson might be thick but I sense a deal of cunning too.
I ask (rhetorically, because we know the answer) why did Djokovic’s lawyers not point out that a raft of international declarations, from Nuremberg onwards, outlaw medical discrimination and coercion?
The Siracusa Principles state that this is non-derogable under any circumstances, asserted emergency or not. Look again at that precient wording… “ASSERTED emergency”. Perfectly covers the present agenda.
Australia, along with many other countries, are acting in a way that until some time within the last two years was accepted worldwide as criminal.
Last year Jeremy Chardy cancelled his season after heart problems following a jab. He does not know whether he will play again. Georgian tennis player Basilashvilli, has become the first to pull out mid-game with breathing difficulties. I am no tennis fan but can anyone remember a supremely fit top tennis player ever having ‘breathing difficulties’ – it’s what they train for. Muscles pulled, yes. Occupational hazard. But breathing?

For the record Steve Kirch has compiled a list of almost 300 ‘coincidences’ that occurred during 2021, and this is only in the field of sports.

Happy to know you are well and coming out firing, Viv.
I have said repeatedly elsewhere that we are being dragooned into looking through the wrong end of the telescope. It should not be about the ‘great and good’, and those way beyond poor hapless Boris as you have said, partying against the rules, but that they were right not to be afraid and that the rules imposed on the rest of us is the real issue.
It is also undoubtedly focussed only on Boris since and because he relaxed the rules in July, and ‘needs’ replacing with someone on point, to catch up with the rest of the world’s descent into tyranny. The irony is that this, and the accidental mild nature of their mouse-developed Omicron, has exposed the sham; the rose coloured glasses of the sheep are coming off, and it has provoked Boris, finally, for self preservation, to relax even further and rush out some red meat policies; although I would call them scraps for the masses.
Why is it the Tories only enthuse on conservative policies when seeking election or when there is a crisis within the party?
Jake…….its a diversionary tactic, nothing more nothing less. I wouldn’t expect anything less from an utter buffoon like Johnson. Who can really take this wannabe Billy Smarts circus clown seriously. With any luck within a month he’ll be throwing custard pies in people’s faces within the Big Top.
Had to cast my mind back to June 2021 just after the cop26 party.
The MSM write about it but it didn’t make headline news as such. The lack of comments shows it was hidden in some sort of low news column, however come the CYA, at least the Daily mail can say we told you so.

Meant to say also glad you’re back and over the usual ‘Cole’s season Viv and a big thank you to Debbie for holding the fort.
Thank you, Lisa – also on Debbie’s behalf!
Seconded.
What a depressing picture. No light at the end of the tunnel.
In answer to your last paragraph Viv, yes. The noise about parties is, of course, because Johnson is going off-message from his handlers.
