Now ‘like ISIS’, according to our propaganda outlets
So now we know: Russia – really really bad, Putin – even badder. That’s what we’re told to believe by the western MSM. One only needs to look at this morning’s compilation of the print editions headlines (link). After all, how bad must a president be when a British paper can compare him to ISIS?
There’s one other news item which is either really bad or not: there were elections yesterday in Hungary, and Viktor Orban won with a handsome majority of 53% of the votes, criticising the EU and Messrs Soros and ‘e in his victory speech (link).
Back to the ‘really bad’ news. This is about ‘the massacre in Bucha’. Our MSM’ reported on this ‘massacre’ with one voice, so it must be true. After all, “we” don’t believe a word any Russian source says or writes. Better use ‘Reuters’ as a proper source where the ‘massacre’ stories were piling up (e.g. here) since yesterday night.
Furthermore, our fine broadsheets are shamelessly publishing horror stories from ‘Ukrainian villagers’, e.g. “Ukrainian mother raped by Russian soldier as she sheltered in school” (paywalled link). So let’s ‘celebrate’ the ‘news’ that brave Ukrainian villagers have ‘killed two Russian soldiers with poisoned pies’, according to The Times (link, paywalled).
Perish the thought that these might be just more propaganda pieces released by the Ukrainian government. At least there’s a shameful little note deep inside the Times article that these stories haven’t been verified. But then again – if ‘news’ come from the Ukrainian government they don’t need to be verified, correct? And the tweet by the mayor of the Ukrainian city Dnepr, telling people to ‘kill Russians all over the world’ (link) is fine and of course not a call for genocide …
Meanwhile, some impartial observers point out that this ‘massacre’ is fake news. See for example this article written by the former Indian diplomat M K Bhadrakumar. He quotes TASS, so let’s go there and see for ourselves. We find for example that the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Ms Zakharova, has pointed out two things. Firstly, that the Russian defence ministry reported that:
“[…] all Russian troops had left the city of Bucha in the Kiev region as far back as March 30 while “evidence of crimes” surfaced four days later, when Ukrainian Security Council officers arrived in the city. According to the Russian defense ministry, Bucha’s mayor Anatoly Fedoruk said in his video address on March 31 that there were no Russian troops in the city. He did not even mention about any people who were shot dead in the streets with their hands tied.” (link)
Well, let’s be fair and assume that this mayor didn’t have time to go and check for all those victims – not least because Ukrainian forces kept shelling that town, something not mentioned in the western press. More on that below. Next Ms Zakharova observed:
“I think that the very fact that these statements [in the western MSM] were made minutes after these materials were released leaves no doubts as for who has contracted this story,” […] According to Zakharova, the West’s political statements came literally immediately after the materials were released, with no analysis of the situation. “There is one thing that is to be taken into account. Heads of state, foreign ministers, public figures, by the way, former politicians came out with their statements only based on the videos, seconds-long videos and several photos.” (link)
This is a point made as well by a number of western analysts and journalists, for example here, describing the videos and photos as ‘context~ and evidence~free’. Moreover, the fact that Russia has demanded a special session of the UN Security Council to investigate these allegations hasn’t made it into our MSM, as far as I could see.
RT (hiss-boo) has the story here. If accusations like ‘war crimes’ and ‘genocide’ are being bandied about by Ukrainian government representatives, from Mr ‘e to his foreign secretary, then they must surely be able to provide proper forensic evidence, correct?
There’s also the shelling of Bucha by the Ukrainian military – something not mentioned in the western MSM, as the Russian ambassador in Washington pointed out. Reiterating the statement by the Russian defence Ministry, that Russian troops had left that town on March 30th, he said:
“I would like to point out that Russian troops left Bucha on March 30. The Ukrainian authorities remained silent all these days, and now they have suddenly posted sensational footage in order to tarnish Russia’s image and make Russia defend itself,” Antonov said. “I would like to emphasize with full responsibility that not a single civilian suffered from violence when the town was controlled by the Russian Armed Forces.” (link)
Forgive the somewhat stumbling English – this is a machine translation. There are furthermore reports in the twittersphere that the Ukrainian ‘KGB” enters the town and combed through it – for ‘Russian collaborators’, one assumes. Time enough, one would think, to produce the corpses needed for these videos.
I’ll round up the reports on the Bucha massacre with two comments by two American journalists, as reported by TASS. Our MSM of course shun and disregard those observations even though they were made on twitter – a ‘news source’ greedily harvested by our ‘journalists’, a ‘news source’ which is known to remove inconvenient tweets and close accounts of those criticising the ‘western narrative’. Firstly, here’s Scott Ritter, quoted at length from TASS:
“Anyone who makes knee jerk judgements from unverified videos sourced from a side known for wild propagandistic claims without waiting for verification of any kind should probably stop calling themselves journalists,” he pointed out, commenting on US media reports of civilians allegedly killed by Russian troops. “Basic medical forensics would answer three key questions: the time of death, the mechanism of death, and if the bodies had been moved. Let’s see if the Ukrainians provide verifiable medical forensic data to sustain their accusations,” […] “The time of death. The mechanism of death. The location of death. Answer these three questions for each body. Then start pointing fingers. Until then, you’re literally spreading disinformation,” the former UN weapons inspector noted.” (link)
Another journalist observed that Kiev is using the ‘massacre news’ to lobby for more military engagement by the USA:
“WASHINGTON, April 4. /TASS/. The Ukrainian authorities are lobbying for US military intervention by posting videos from the town of Bucha, while US media outlets are presenting it as verified fact, American journalist and political commentator Michael Tracey wrote on Twitter. “For weeks, US media has been happy to take photos/video/claims produced by Ukraine government officials and present it as verified fact. They’ve abandoned all journalistic standards to assist the propaganda efforts of a foreign government openly lobbying for US military action,” (link)
Isn’t it wonderful how “The Fog of War” means that our MSM are apparently incapable to report from the Russian side while everything that comes from the Ukraine is as clear as the day and can be reported, unverified.
Never mind that these turn out to be ‘fake news’ a few days later. Never mind the failure of western journalists to do their job properly. Never mind that western MSM are blatantly spreading disinformation and propaganda. Anything is welcome, it seems, when it can be utilised to justify more ‘lethal aid’ going to the Ukraine, when it can be used to declare that ‘Putin is ISIS’.
It boils down to the old question of whom to believe – the fabulous MSM or our own eyes. After our experience of the covid years, the choice shouldn’t be difficult!
I have been good for the past two weeks having not called the leader of a political party which used to be called the Conservative Party a buffoon, halfwit or idiot because I didn’t want to upset those on this site who think he is a hero. We have had New Labour under Tony Blair who stitched this country up good and proper and now we have a reformed neo Conservative Party which should be re-named the New Liberal Democrats or more appropriately the New Green Party led by another clown. I don’t know of one traditional Conservative voter or UKIP/Reform UK voter who believes one word that spews forth out of the mouth of this particular clown, and that must surely be bad news for his electoral prospects for the local elections this coming May and the general election in 2024, if he is still in post, which I somewhat doubt. His government which does little to solve the myriad of problems that face the residents of this country namely the cost of living increases, and the cost of Gas and Electricity on which we all rely, the continuing mass immigration via the English Channel, and the Northern Ireland protocol, whilst continuing to up the anti over Russia with talk of war crimes trials and more sanctions blah, blah, blah. It seems to many including me that the sanctions imposed thus far against Putin and Russia as a whole have had little impact on the supposed intended target, but have had more of an impact on us, the great British public. And today I read that the Health Department have listed another nine symptoms attributed to Covid 19, stomach ache, wanting to go to the loo to often, feeling or being sick, headache, sore throat, runny nose being some of them. And if one has any of these symptoms we must run along and take a test which will cost us money which will go into the exchequer I cannot believe this hasn’t be run through the leader of the New Green Party, but I for one are done with Covid 19, and the same can be said of the leader of the New Green Party. He might just be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice in the next week or so for being in breach of regulations he railroaded through the House of Commons, and will present the best chance of ridding ourselves of this nutter once and for all…..
Russia Threatens to Limit Vital Exports of Agriculture Products to ‘Friendly’ Countries Only.
Great game Chess innit.
This headline is taken from the Epoch News so it’s not worth a lot until a Ruskie confirmation pops up. But would you blame Vlad?
My country is losing its way when I see a clip from the HoC when Sir Christopher Chope (spell?) makes reference to the need to investigate adverse effects from the Stabcine and is PUT DOWN by the speaker (small s).
Hoyle needs a put down IMO. His response has annulled any respect for his position in my camp.
Bring back Betty.
Oh dear. The re-election of Orban will not go down well. It must be another case of, as Macron warned it would be if Le Pen is elected, a democratic accident. We all know democracies are supposed to elect only socialists; that’s the natural order of the world. So Brexit and Trump were simply accidents where the people got it wrong (or perhaps accidents because the tampering was not good enough.)
That link to the BBC is priceless; twisting and turning trying to find some way to attack him, whilst pretending they are not.
“Viktor Orban has won a fourth term by a landslide”
“Mr Orban – who has close ties with Moscow – has condemned the Russian invasion, and taken in half a million refugees since the war began.”
“Mr Orban, 58, has had a fraught relationship with the EU, which considers that [his party] has undermined Hungary’s democratic institutions.”
What they mean is that he has undermined the EU’s non-democratic institutions.
“The opposition complained that [his party] had isolated Hungary from the European mainstream, and from consensual democracy, fairness and decency.” How does this ‘consensual democracy’ differ from the actual democracy that has just given Orban a stonking win?
And I like this: “Mr Orban has rewritten the constitution, filled the top courts with his appointees, and changed the electoral system to his advantage.” So, just like Tony Blair, then.
Everywhere you look “Orban is a Putin apologist”! If that is what a “Putin apologist” looks like, we could do with one.
Thank you, Viv. You are looking into the things I have no time to do, and what ‘journalists’ should be doing but do not. Hope you and the Princess are well.
Hi, ST301 – yeah, well, someone has to wade through the swamps and since I’m a speed-reader I can bet in and out as quickly as possible while still collecting as much material as i can, discarding half of it …
As for my beautiful furry Princess – she died four months ago. It was expected but it hurt very much, even so.
I couldn’t be without a collie, so for the last few weeks there’s been another collie, a 7-year-old ‘gentleman’ who still thinks he’s a puppy. right now we’re ‘reading’ each other …
I hope you’re keeping well!
So sorry to hear you lost your furry Princess but got straight back onto the horse. Well done. I have had many dogs and cats over the years and I miss them all terribly.
This comes under “makes one feel proud to be British …not!”:
The UK, which holds the Chair of the UN Security council this month, has refused Russia’s request yesterday to convene an urgent meeting of the UNSC, on the ‘Bucha Massacre’.
Russia is asking again today, but the British UN ambassador has said the council would meet tomorrow anyway, so, one presumes, there’s no urgency … let the propaganda do its work, innit.
The source is Reuters, so ’tis ain’t a Russian ‘propaganda gripe’ …
Cheers CM! Nail on the head, as always. I hope all is well ?
Hi Wooshy – thanks, and yeah, things are ok on the collie-front with the new ‘inmate’. well, mostly …
😉
Fantastic, just got 2 new cockers myself!
You take care & keep up this great work!
Cheers!
I have to agree with regard to the MSM’s ‘reporting’ of the Russia/Ukraine situation. I’ve given up reading most of it simply because it has become tedious, going over the same thing time and time again. I am also becoming sick of Zelensky’s continuous whining and demands for NATO to fight his battles for him. He was even given a platform (by video link) to speak about his ‘plight’ at the Oscars for crying out loud. Suffice to say, these celebrity occasions are not something I watch anyway.
There is one reporter who does put forward a more balanced viewpoint. This is one of his recent articles, a couple of previous ones outline what might have goaded Mr Putin to invade Ukraine.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-10679743/PETER-HITCHENS-USA-wants-war-drive-Russia-Stone-Age.html
I have a lot of time for Peter Hitchens too, but he too doesn’t tell the whole story as I understand it. (His editor probably wouldnt let him). which is that like Covid, Ukraine is being cynically used as a smokescreen; when the fog clears we’ll see a world biosecurity state; plus I understand it it is a chance for them to drive us to a Central Bank Digital Currency.
I think you may well be right about Hitchens’ editor not letting him say too much, especially in the current ‘cancel culture’ climate. As to what we will be faced with when the fog clears, there’s no telling what the powers that be have lined up for us. It won’t be pleasant whatever it is. However, as it was reported a few hours ago that Finland will shortly make a decision on whether to join NATO as soon as possible, I wonder if a third world war will be triggered before the fog clears. Talk about pouring petrol on a fire.
I have stopped all internet research – too depressing even when finding sites that question the prevailing narrative or provide otherwise unmentioned historical facts – and now just rely on Viv’s research and analysis for which I am grateful.
Thanks, Stout. It is depressing indeed, and very time-consuming.
There have been comment posts on various sites pointing out that the Ukrainian police posted a video from 2nd April, announcing that they are going through Bucha looking for ‘collaborators’. Someone else asked how come that no photos or videos emerged during the four days before the ‘massacre’ was published, of dead bodies left by the Russians who, after had, had left on 30th March, and that the bodies found didn’t look as if they’d been there since that day (30.3/2022).
Someone else pointed out that some of those bodies seem to have had Russian aid parcels under their bodies …
All in all, I think this is the famous ‘false flag event’w which the western Media and Biden have been prophesying for so long – only, they couldn’t provide the ‘evidence’ for a chemical attack, so they just used people they’d shot themselves.
Me, I’m feeling sick but I shall wade through this merge, taking one for the team!
Frightening isn’t it, when you realise that just about every Western politician is complicit in and going along with this pack of lies and deceit; the blood of the Ukranian victims is on their hands as well.
It doesn’t say much for our politicians does it; not that I ever had much faith in them but now we really do see them in their true colours.
The Russian Army is obviously completely evil, badly organised and incompetent. (Makes you wonder why we even bother with NATO?) All it takes is some plucky citizens with a bit of gumption and those poor misled conscripts drop their guns and run away. Oh and how lucky we are to have a proper leader standing up for democracy and supporting a sovereign nation that simply wants to protect its borders. What a waste of time all this Partygate nonsense. So what if people were confined to their homes and fined for walking in the countryside? People are shivering in bomb shelters all over the Ukraine. Can’t pay your gas bill? Blame Putin and read about how to properly manage your money and survive on benefits. Need a new hip? Bit selfish when other people are housing starving refugees? Show some compassion!
Just a few thoughts on our free, unbiased and objective main stream media.
KBO
Smack on the money Matt lololool 🙂
Me too. Very grateful to Viv. cannot say how much.
Thank you, Mary!
The election of Orban is surely better than the alternative, but I can’t get my head round him. He is pro- family values, anti mass immigration and anti Soros I believe ; yet didn’t he go along with all the Covid obscenities?
Possibly. I didn’t follow Hungary. He may, like many initally, have thought it was the right thing to do. It is resistance to contining with lockdowns when evidence showed them to be ineffective or causing more harm than benefit, that distinguishes the various governments. Even then, a leader had to override the group think of scientific advisors. There are no perfect politicians. Orban, as you note, is pro-family and Christian heritage. Good enough then especially compared to the rest of the EU’s leaders.
TBH, I’m not ‘believing’ anything I read, whichever side is supposed to have committed the atrocities. I’m observing the maxim that the first casualty of war is truth. Most idiotic and/or insidious of all are reports claiming to be from ‘intelligence’. Remember those old wartime posters? Careless talk costs lives! So, logically, either people are being extremely stupid or the real intel are keeping schtum and not shouting to all and sundry & the perfidious MSM
Helena, you probably missed a late response of mine a week or so ago. With your background, your take on the evidence and revelations in this piece, would be very welcome.
https://www.bitchute.com/video/7p3qOGaDAjYg/
Phil, I’m going to disappoint you as I won’t pontificate on something where TBH I don’t have enough knowledge. I really don’t have the time to listen to the whole interview, I managed 20mins while I was in the bath. I did however get the vibe and it wasn’t a good one. Biological Laboratories – in parentheses and spat out as if they were something terrible. They are not – and without them, no antibiotics, vaccines, diagnostic tests, understanding of mechanisms of pathogenesis and susceptibility for both us and the animals we live with.
Much was too vague so I could not evaluate it properly. I would need to know what experiments, why synovial tissue – that suggests research into arthritic conditions. Why Russian not other Caucasians? Genetically they would all be very close so the inference in the interview is meaningless.
On the other hand, I have read Ridley & Chan’s ‘Viral’ and keep close watch on what Chan & other DRASTIC members post re Covid origins. It stinks – and that containment level 2, which I use so I know how inadequate it would be, was allegedly used to handle modified coronavirus (they are airborne) is dire. It would take too long to go into Daszak et al’s mess here but one aspect of the interview is true – that studies which are generally scientifically sound, like monitoring ticks, bats, migrating birds could be used as Trojan horses.
Chan is very keen that better checks are kept on what can and can’t be done esp re gain of function and for transparency and inspection. I agree. One final note – yes, let’s check out if anything underhand is going on in the Ukrainian labs, but what about the rest? Africa was mentioned, Omicron was first detected in S. Africa, but they acknowledge that as they have more sequencing ability it may not have arisen there but in another African nation. It’s lineage is peculiar and some have suggested it may have originated from a storage made early in the pandemic. I’d be interested in what the Pentagon is or isn’t up to in Africa personally. And far more scope for isolating nasties to misuse than Ukraine
