When the MSM only provide blatant propaganda …

I am ashamed of our MSM. I never thought I’d see such blatant disregard for reporting ‘what is’ before providing opinions. I never thought that I’d see our formerly world-famous papers turn into outlets where all ‘reports’ might as well have been written by one person. I never thought that I’d witness our western MSM – national as well as international – goose-step in one direction only, no divergence permitted.

So allow me a diversion, a look at the recent history of how the MSM were reporting and writing. Let me also look at what for most of the current “journalists” is ancient history from which they only know some names but lack proper understanding of the actual historical situation.

During the two covid years we’ve noticed that our allegedly independent MSM had turned into what we called ‘ministry of propaganda’. The covid reports were too similar, critical voices were so successfully suppressed that only the quickly established website ‘Lockdown Sceptic’, now ‘Daily Sceptic’, provided a venue for the news government and their nudge unit didn’t want us to know. Other websites followed, filling the gaps left by the coil propaganda MSM.

Over the years, we’ve also pointed out that internationally, the MSM are no longer providing facts but their interpretation of facts. We pointed out that the ‘Big MSM Names’ not only copied from each other but that there was a concerted effort to suppress inconvenient news. The prevailing attitude was that, if it wasn’t in the New York Times or the BBC, it hadn’t happened and was therefore ‘fake news’.

After the then US President Trump had called out those ‘Big MSM Names’, for themselves providing fake news, censorship became a new occupation. ‘Fact Checking’ sites proliferated, ‘fact checkers’ were employed by the big antisocial media corporations – even the BBC has a ‘fact check’ department. Controversial opinions were removed, accounts were blocked.

Next, ‘cancel culture’ proliferated, together with the proliferation of ‘shit storms’ on the antisocial media against personalities who dared to publish their own, controversial opinion – ‘hate speech’ legislation notwithstanding: ‘it’s different when ‘we’ do it’.

Proper, professional journalists meanwhile set up their own video channels. Alternative social media sites also proliferated, after the ‘big providers’ blocked videos and social media accounts of inconvenient journalists and scientists. People like us who want to make up their own minds and want facts, not opinions, were forced to spend more and more time on the internet, to look for and find those factual reports.

The historical ‘Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda’ was the entity established by Joseph Goebbels (link). Scroll down to the segment on the daily press conferences where the German press was given their marching orders regarding what and how to report and write. This was called ‘Sprachregelung’ – regulation of language. Given the previous covid reporting’ in our MSM, given the current wall-to-wall coverage in our MSM, all singing from the same hymn sheet, it is impossible not to draw parallels.

Yes, I am talking about the MSM’s ‘reporting’ of the situation in the Ukraine. I am sickened by the ‘reports’ in this morning’s papers, not because they’re reporting blood and gore but because they are filling all available space with ‘interpretations’ and mood-pieces, for example about the children of Russian oligarchs speaking out’ against war. Turns out there are only two, one of them ‘a London socialite’ (paywalled link).

It’s also the time of armchair psychoanalysts and ‘doctors’ explaining Putin’s ‘illnesses’ because he surely must be mad. The latest is that ‘Putin suffers’ from ‘delusions and delirium’ due to long covid (link). No, let’s not ask if our own ‘leaders’ might conceivably suffer from ‘long covid delusions’ as well …

There are media which do report news not to be found in our MSM. I couldn’t find, for example, a report that the UN Security Council rejected the US demand to condemn Russia’s military action (link). It’s significant to note which countries vetoed the US demand: Russia, China, India and the UEA. Shouldn’t it be worthwhile to opinionate about a possible realignment, indicating a possible future alliance between the two most populated countries of this world?

Somewhat hidden away is a report that Russia has now banned all British planes from entering Russian air space (link, paywalled). Well, that was in answer to Johnson’s banning Aeroflot. I’m sure British airlines flying to the Far East will be delighted to do their bit and sacrifice ‘for the Ukraine’. And never mind that Chelsea Footie Club may now go bust (link, paywalled): we all have to make sacrifices …

It’s interesting that the whole mess of sanctions has sunk below the horizon. Kicking Russia out of SWIFT doesn’t seem to gain momentum. The USA will still import Russian oil, Italy will still be allowed to export luxury goods to Russia … ah, it’s all a bit more complicated than the ‘hit Russia now’ crowd thinks.

Since it’s Saturday and there won’t be a ‘Daily Betrayal’ tomorrow unless the situation demands, I’ll leave you with links to three texts which, albeit long, are extremely important if you want to gain some understanding of the history of the catastrophic failure of the West, especially the USA and NATO, if you want to make up your own mind of Putin’s goals and if you want to judge yourself if he’s indeed ‘delusional.

The first text is a report on an interview which had taken place decades ago. it’s with the late George F Kennan, formerly US ambassador to Moscow, who knew a thing or two about the then Soviet Union and about Russia. His warnings were disregarded then, however his analysis at that time provides an explanation for the current situation.

The second text is a translation of Putin’s speech given on 24th February 2022. Only one snippet was published in our MSM. When you read the whole thing you’ll realise why that was!

The third text is an analysis of the situation on the 24th of February 2022, combined with an analysis of Putin’s speech. The author is an eminent US analyst of international relations and Russian affairs. Read the whole thing, to counterbalance the unmitigated, sickening propaganda in all MSM, national, international, no matter.

I leave you with one, non-Russian piece of ‘good news’ which has fallen between the cracks. Javid announced that the despicable ‘emergency coiv legislation’ will be scrapped next month (link). A week is a long time in politics, so we’ll wait with bated breath …

Have a good weekend and avoid the MSM!
