In honour of St David’s Day and to cheer us up
Today is St David’s Day, Dydd Dewi Sant. It’s another day full of ‘war reports’ in our MSM. It’s another day without even the slightest hint of articles demanding an accounting for the sudden dropping of ‘mask mandates’ across the world. It’s another day where we need the ‘alt media’, so despised by the Westminster “elite” to find out that some of the covid legislation will be made permanent (link).
It’s another day where the MSM know only one theme: War, and how “we” are sanctioning Putin til the pips squeak. Here’s a nice one: the international Taekwondo Federation stripped Putin of the ‘honorary black belt’ they’d given him – in 2013. Excuse me – but didn’t big bad Putin rob poor innocent Ukraine of the Crimea in 2014, to international horror and disgust? Why then, a naive bystander might ask, wasn’t he stripped of that honour at that time? What has changed?
Meanwhile the Ukrainian ambassador to the USA had this to say:
“Ukraine’s ambassador to the US says Russia used a vacuum bomb on Monday in its invasion of Ukraine. Oksana Markarova appealed to members of US Congress for more help as her country resists a “brutal war”. “They used the vacuum bomb today, which is actually prohibited by the Geneva convention,” she said.” (paywalled link).
She didn’t say where this vacuum bomb was used. I couldn’t find any images supporting her claim even though the same image of a burnt-out vehicle is all over the place (e.g. link). Her claim reminded me very much of the one telling the world that Saddam’s soldiers (remember him?) had ripped out premature babies from their incubators. By the time it was acknowledged that this was untrue the first Gulf War was over.
Since we’re recalling the Gulf Wars, here’s one other example for ‘it’s different when we do it’. The Ukrainian president told the western world that Putin is committing war crimes by bombarding Ukrainian cities (link). Am I naive to ask if shelling and bombarding e.g. Baghdad wasn’t a war crime because “we” did it in a good cause?
Ah – but that was then, this is now. Now “we” can feel good because ‘our weapons’ help Ukraine to ‘score victories’ over Putin (paywalled link). Never mind that we don’t see images of those ‘victories’, even though commercial satellites are providing images 24/7. There are also all those drones which Ukrainian forces are using ‘to good effect’. The editor of that DT report is however opuzzled, writing that “Russia could simply jam the radio signals controlling the drones but has not done so.” (paywalled link). Why is that? No answer.
Meanwhile, the Western MSM, the editor of ‘SpikeOnline’ included, are celebrating their ‘new hero’, the Ukrainian president, who is ever present on social media. It’s irrelevant that the various images of him courageously visiting ‘teh front’ have been debunked as having been taken in April 2021: he’s a hero and that’s that.
When we read that he is ‘winning the cyber war’ we might wonder if this means he’s not winning the actual shooting war. We might also wonder if a ‘modern war’ is now fought on ‘social’ media, that actual events don’t occur unless they fit the narrative of ‘war crimes’ committed by Putin. I found this remark intriguing:
“It is an apparently uncomplicated story of good versus evil that works particularly well online by allowing audiences to pick sides, says Sara McCorquodale, owner of social media intelligence agency Corq and author of Influence. “Binary narratives tend to be more successful on social media. There’s a tribalism that kicks in.” (paywalled link)
You might like to read this text, a good analysis of why this ‘media war’ works. It comes with a warning: strong language is used! While the huge ‘tribe’ of russophobes and Putin-Haters are saturating the international media to an unprecedented extent, economic consequences of their wish for ‘moar sanctions’ are utterly disregarded.
When the PM tells us that the pain “we” inflict on Putin means that we’ll also feel pain it’s only worthy of notice, not of analysis. Again, there are some very odd exemptions in those sanctions. Those Russian banks dealing with payment for gas deliveries seem to be exempt (link, paywalled). There’s also this:
“The White House reacted coolly to a proposal by Volodymyr Zelensky for a no-fly zone for Russian flights over Ukraine, saying US participation in such a move would be tantamount to a direct conflict with Moscow.” (paywalled link)
Cynical old cows like myself might infer from this sniffy remark that the USA and the EU are fighting a proxy war in Ukraine, that it’s not really about preventing the suffering of Ukrainian civilians but about something else. Ms Truss let the cat out of the bag – on Twitter, of course, where else:
“The foreign secretary later posted on Twitter: “We have taken decisive action. We will degrade the Russian economy and isolate Russia on the world stage. Putin must lose.” (link, paywalled)
Yes, it’s about ‘regime change’, about making the Russian people so desperate with all those sanctions, from no more footie to no more other sports, from no more money and no more exports that they’ll surely rise and topple Putin. After all, it worked for Gaddafi, it worked for Saddam, didn’t it! Better not ask who might pick up the pieces of a destabilised Russia: we don’t mention China.
I’ll leave you with two texts you might like to read. They explain a bit more about the actual background to this war. This one is by a former British Diplomat, Alistair Crooke. The other one is in German so you’ll need to use a machine translator. It’s very long and detailed and was published last year, well before the war. The well-documented analysis of the economic and political situation in Ukraine, the description of interferences by the IMF and the USA is devastating. Reading it is well worth the effort!
It’s another day – Dydd Dewi Sant or St David’s Day. Perhaps you’re not inclined to wear a daffodil or a leek in your lapels. Leeks are good for your health though, which might help if you feel brave enough to step into the acres of pixels spewed out in our MSM.
You might however prefer to keep off the MSM altogether, for health reasons!
Well, it was a Happy St David’s Day! (If I forget M-way traffic jams in dire weather) First training session at client’s labs since the CCP loosed their genetically modified virus on the world; not yet another Teams – hooray. So, that’s why I’m reading this today. Oh it is so nice to be with ‘normal’ folk. Normal for me means proper scientists. “Obvious from the start it was airborne” said one; nobody’s moaning about still wearing masks onsite there, and they’re evaluating their HVAC.
Viv, ‘sudden dropping of mask mandates?’ By which I assume you mean any old useless bit of cloth. (Well, OK, some places realised we needed proper N95 masks to protect ourselves) The MSM has moved on to real news but the CCP virus hasn’t! Still out there anywhere where the lack of ventilation lets it build up – and even the useless bits of cloth reduced the quantity shed a bit, provided you didn’t sling it under your nose. People keep talking about ‘going back to normal’ NO, there is NO GOING BACK to Jan 2020. Once you have seen, you can’t unsee – and we must not ignore what we’ve seen and fail to act.
There’s the extraordinary transformation of Jacinda Arden and Justin Castro – sorry, Trudeau into petty dictators. As the truckers said, many of them had been vaccinated, they were happy to have had it but it was the draconian measures to impose a mandate that they objected to.
And our lot tried it on too, didn’t they? At least in care homes and the NHS. Now, if the vaccine was what is known as a ‘sterilising vaccine’ there is a case for expecting those having close contact with sick or vulnerable people to get the vaccine, but even by the care home deadline we knew it did not prevent shedding of the current variants (even if it reduced it) so why weren’t both healthcare mandates pulled pronto? Raise the hostility and you risk more infection from ‘deniers’ rushing for their ‘freedom’, going back to ‘normal’ and not testing or staying away from people if they have symptoms which might be covid.
Enough of that – there’s no going back now we see where the manipulation by Putin’s ‘bots to push the anti fracking green agenda has got us. Shown up for fools for not making sure we were energy independent, shown up for fools for pushing ‘net zero’. Rising to the BLM and gender bender propaganda – In 50 years time someone in Russia or China will be drafting a history tome. How the West Was Lost

Reading all this every day is so depressing. It’s like living between the pages of a sci-if novel of the ‘end of days’! When governments begin to wage wars against the people they used to commit to serve and brutish barbarianism appears on the streets inflicted by those whose job it is to ‘administer the law’ in an unbiased manner, it is obvious that civilisation is ended!
My soul is sickened with the daily stories of this depravity. Yet even in these days of living in a ‘World of Information’, when so many people are internet savvy, it is disheartening to find that the majority seem to have been so brainwashed by the psychological onslaught that they cannot see that their days as free men and women (or it, their or whatever) are ending in an avalanche of totalitarian wickedness! The smart phone has pretty much become the ‘tag in the ear’ meted out to all unfree animals! Baaa!
I totally agree with you Frederica.
Me too.
This morning when I was in the car I had the misfortune of turning on the radio which was tuned into LBC, a radio station I never listen to these days, and heard the rambling, monotone, self opinionated voice of that station’s worse than awful presenter James O’Brien. He seems to have a thing about Nigel Farage even though he hasn’t been a presenter at LBC for over a year, and at the moment that I switched on he was commenting on the fact they were awaiting the Ukrainian president (Zelensky) to give a speech to the European Union parliament, and quite outrageously he something ‘thank goodness Nigel Farage isn’t in there with his crew waving flags’. O’Brien just cannot resist being hateful at every available opportunity, even at a time like this and needs to be held accountable for what spews out of his sewer like mouth. Unless it has escaped his attention, this country left the European Union almost two years ago and that there are no British MEP’s sitting in that parliament. He was also commenting that this country has been the slowest to offer assistance to Ukraine it its hour of need in terms of taking in refugees. I think I heard yesterday that Britain will take in 100.000 Ukrainian refugees, which is a hell of a lot bearing in mind that this country is the most populated country per square mile in Europe. Give Johnson his due, he was the first to mention sanctions against Russia and pledge a supply of weapons etc to the Ukraine. Has O’Brien given it any thought as to where this number of people are going to be housed at such short notice, where the children are going to be schooled, and where all of them are going to receive medical attention etc etc etc. If this utter fool of a presenter thinks he can do an infinitely better job than all the politicians he rudely interviews, why does he not form a party of his own and stand for parliament. However it is easier to be a radio presenter sniping from the sidelines, in the knowledge that he wont be called upon to lift a finger to help, to the few people who listen in to his utter tripe.
Colin Hussey, you can add Jeremy Vine to the list of people who spew out bile and utter contempt for the public, especially as it won’t hit his pocket or affect his living standards. I caught a short snippet of his morning show on Radio 2 today (I mostly don’t listen to it any more as the music is garbage 90% of the time). One person came on in a very polite and reasoned way and said exactly what you had said about accepting 100,000 refugees and it was painful to listen to. It was then made worse by some woman who said that politics and other factors should be kept out of this humanitarian issue as if the famous money tree/printer can just wave his magic want. Absolutely pathetic.
While everyone is devoting their full attention to what is going on in Ukraine the Intergovernmental Negotiating Body has had its first meeting to discuss time lines for a plan for the WHO to have power over a countries constitution in the event of future pandemics. The next meeting will be in August.

Words utterly failed me when I read this in Sir John Redwood’s Diary entry on sanctions this morning:
“There will be a bit more inflation and a bit less growth as a result.”
Yeah verily, there will only be a little stagflation, a sacrifice well worth making, innit like …
I hope these words will come to haunt him.
Viv…….and he will probably accept the £2,200 per annum pay increase all MP’s have been awarded. How is it the rest of us if we are lucky have to accept a 1% pay rise which politicians grudgingly award us, whilst they get a fixed sum. OK they apparently didn’t get a rise last year, but evened out that still means £1000 extra per year since their last inflation busting pay rise. Getting a £2200 when the country is in debt to the tune of trillions of pounds is very inappropriate in the circumstances. Something is very wrong in this country where politicians seem to think they are exempt from the laws they set, and not subject to the same pay rise restrictions to the rest of the public sector, and urgently needs to be sorted out. If the boot was on the other foot they would be linking that type of increase to efficiency reforms. Insofar as they are concerned, that should be less parliamentary recesses, MP’s being made to attend Parliament everyday, reducing the number of MP’s from 650 to something like 350, and abolishing the House of Lords. Johnson and the Conservative Party can go to hell next time a general elections comes around. My vote will not be going there, nor will it go to the current opposition garbage.
I am so sorry for the New Zealanders’ predicament and how it had come to this. It is obvious the ptb planned this well before the “pandemic” kicked off and the indigenous population took too long to react (same all over the free world). This does indeed call for drastic measures.
Here’s another straw in the wind, preparing us for the true aim of ‘Teh West’: regime change.
Cloaked in the usual waffle, Paul Goodman gently lets the cat out of the bag in ConHome – see here.
I feel sorry for the innocent populations of Russia and Ukraine who are just collateral damage in the games being played in the name of “world government” . We all lose. Take out the main players and it’s over!
Who would you rather be arrested by? I’ve watched video footage of Russion police arresting anti-war protesters, having also seen footage of Canadian, Australian and French police demonstrating ‘our values’ when breaking up protests (as well as our own at work in Trafalgar Square in September last year). I’d choose the Russians from what I’ve seen.
I had similar thoughts not so long ago Stout Yeoman – in fact I said so, on here.
At the moment though I’m mainly just plain fed up with all politicians and leaders everywhere!
Definition of a vacuum bomb: an empty headed politician or useful idiot.
They’re the most dangerous thing on the planet !
Thank you for introducing us to Off Guardian Viv. I’d never heard of it before. re the international pandemic treaty:

I’m posting the email I’ve just received from our NZ Correspondent. It’s not about ‘that’ war – but is a stark reminder that our lives and freedoms are still under threat by our governments:
“Hi Viv
Things are getting serious here. Last week the governments mandated that police and armed services must be vaccinated has been declared illegal in the supreme court. This has set a precedent and many other mandates are expected to follow suit.
Unfortunately, Saint Jacinda the psychopath has taken this personally after losing face, has told the police that the protesters at parliament must be gone by Sunday and they’ve been out training with gas weapons.
Yesterday a well meaning Kiwi businessman lent the protesters a large mobile sanitary unit to keep clean. At 12:30 am last night some rather nasty policemen in riot gear charged in and smashed up the sanitary unit worth a hundred thousand dollars and this will ruin this kind businessman.
One woman that got too close to the police was beaten to the ground as the police trampled over the top of her, she was seriously injured and to watch her crying her heart out while she was being talked to by the protesters was heartbreaking. This is a recurring theme when there are
skirmishes with the police, these big brave policemen always go for the weakest first and that is usually the women. I’m sick of seeing women
crying.
As usual, when the police do things like this, even more kiwis turn up from around the country and now more are on their way. I think that the relaxed peaceful stage of the protest is now over, now it feels more like people are preparing for war, many military veterans are turning up
to support the protesters too.
I will write about this in due course but at the moment I’m feeling too upset and wondering what will happen next, in the meantime feel free to publish this if you want to.
NZ correspondent”
Thanks, Viv. Yes, very important not to look exclusively at the performing squirrel. This war is all too convenient. It facilitates the Globalist agenda of crashing the world’s economies to enable their ‘reset’. Chaos and hardship R Us. It can only be deliberate that EU membership is being fast-tracked, when removal of Ukraine’s buffer state status, with the coup in 2014, was a major provocation. It s almost as if they WANT to intensify the war. Surely not! But it also nicely buries the revelations about Covid and the jabs, all the repression around the world, and the preparations effectively to write tyranny into our very own laws.
Nigel Farage last night said that many of Russia’s troops on the frontline are conscripts. Later Rear Admiral Chris Parry said Russia is deploying old tanks. He likened it to the film ZULU where the Zulus lined up and waved their spears but did not attack; they were counting the defenders’ rifles. He also believes that Putin’s objective was to take the eastern half of the country, and Odessa to cut-off their Black Sea access. But with potential EU membership, effectively putting NATO on his border by proxy, his greatest beef, he may now go on to take the whole country as it then makes no difference. In my opinion this is globalist manipulation of the highest order.
Alex Jones is not everyone’s cup of tea, his sensationalism and manner are off-putting, detracting from his usually sound points when he finally gets to them, and allowing him to be ridiculed, but on his show last October he claimed inside information that there would be a war in February. Just saying’.
Thanks for sharing the letter Viv. It is good to hear the activists are doubling down and getting more supporters which is vital.
