Research in a Bio-Lab, somewhere, financed by … ?
There are ‘news’ and then there are News. Again, I’ll leave the ‘reports’ about the military conditions in the Ukraine to ‘Our Experts’ here in the newsrooms. Our MSM are again indulging in shock-horror ‘news’ while diligently looking away from other, proper horror news which are reported elsewhere. I’ll get to those below.
There is one item I need to mention. It’s an instance of extreme foot-in-mouth disease. Some more uncharitable people might see it as a sign for the poodlefication of the UK. Ben Wallace, MoD Minister, said yesterday that Britain would support Poland were they to decide to send their old MiG fighter jets to Ukraine:
“Ben Wallace warned that Warsaw could be drawn into the “direct line of fire” from Russia or Belarus, but said the UK would be ready to offer defensive support to its Nato ally. An attack on one Nato partner is considered an attack on all and would be likely to spark a collective response under article five of the alliance’s treaty. “I would support the Poles and whatever choice they make,” Mr Wallace told Sky Newson Tuesday […]” (paywalled link)
Well, that was nice of him: fuelling the blaze regardless that might lead to nuclear war. Perhaps he simply said this to signal his virtue, standing shoulder to shoulder with the last Ukrainian and Polish man remaining. However, did his superiors in the USA not tell him beforehand that this was a huge no-no? Or did they permit him to speak, to make himself look good as a potential replacement for Johnson?
After all, it didn’t take long for the USA to reject Poland’s plan (link). At the same time though the USA moved two more mobile anti-aircraft batteries to Poland. I quote from the report on RT in case you cannot access the site:
“This defensive deployment is being conducted proactively to counter any potential threat to US and Allied forces and NATO territory,” the United States European Command (EUCOM) said in a statement on Tuesday. The combatant command further stressed that the mobile missile systems, which use guided munitions to intercept and destroy hostile targets, are “a prudent force protection measure” that “in no way support any offensive operations.” (link)
Well, that’s alright then and at least these are not nukes, are they! While “we” can feel safe while our energy costs rise and rise, there’s one piece of news which doesn’t seem to worry our fear porn merchants. Not even after two years of covid, lockdowns, and the still ongoing attempts to find out if that virus was man-made and escaped from a bio-lab can our MSM be bothered with the evidence of biolabs in Ukraine, apparently run by the Pentagon.
In the early days of Russia’s Special Operation there were reports that US officials destroyed papers relating to those biolabs, e.g. here. Yesterday Ms Nuland testified before a US Senate Commission where she was asked about this issue. This is the same Ms Nuland who infamously quipped ‘fuck the EU’ in 2014, bribing Ukraine with $5b US tax dollars, leading to the events which got all of us to where we are now.
Ms Nuland’s admission was reported by SputnikNews (link). Of course, we won’t go to such Russian propaganda sites, would we! Instead, see this report in an Indian paper:
“On Tuesday, the US government’s Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland testified before a Senate Foreign Relation Committee hearing on Ukraine in Washington, DC, and said that the United States was working with Ukraine to prevent invading Russian forces from seizing biological research material. The State Department also stated that it was concerned that Russian forces are trying to gain control of biological research facilities within Ukraine.” (link)
Note well that Ms Nuland is shamelessly accusing Russia of wanting to ‘control’ these biolabs. Since “we” are of course not using Russian propaganda material, we will look at a tweet from a US citizen who makes the pertinent point our own MSM are too squeamish to make – here’s the link.
It’s a well-known technique to blame the opponent for doing or planning to do that which one oneself hopes to do, in secret. It’s called ‘projection’ and has become a potent instrument in the war news our MSM are indulging in. Meanwhile, China has asked some pertinent questions regarding Ms Nuland’s admission:
“Chinese foreign ministry on Tuesday called on the United States to release all-around details of its biological laboratories in Ukraine, and urged relevant parties to ensure their safety. Recent media reports said those biological laboratories store large quantities of dangerous viruses, and Russia has found in the course of military operations that the United States uses those facilities for biological military programs.” (link)
You might like to read the whole, brief entry – it’s from China so cannot be ‘Russian Propaganda’. RT has picked up the Chinese news report and added:
“On Monday, the Russian military said Ukrainian authorities had been destroying pathogens studied at its laboratories. Moscow claimed that 30 US-financed Ukrainian biolabs have been actively cooperating with the American military. Kiev has denied developing bioweapons. According to the website of the US embassy in Kiev, the US Department of Defense’s Biological Threat Reduction Program only “collaborates with partner countries to counter the threat of outbreaks” of infectious diseases. In 2020, the embassy called such theories about US-funded biolabs in Ukraine “disinformation.” (link)
I like it when the cry of ‘fake news’ is later shown to have been a proper lie. However, we ‘re aware that the authorities can turn what formerly was just ‘fake news’ into ‘disinformation’ punishable by imprisonment. Only the subject of that ‘crime’ is variable: something on the war in Ukraine not in the approved MSM in Czechia now, something about biolabs and man-made diseases in future – who knows.
I’ll leave you with yet another instance demonstrating that the ‘war’ is fought on social media. On Monday, Ukraine accused Russia in front of the Court in Den Hague of ‘war crimes’. Yesterday the USA said:
“The United States has no direct evidence of war crimes in Ukraine besides what is seen on social media, Defence Intelligence Agency Director Lt. Gen. Scott Berrier said on Tuesday.” (link)
Ah. But then, who cares about that when our MSM ’experts’, the generals of the ‘101 Chairborne Division’, prefer reporting by social media to doing their own research. An anonymous comment poster observed:
“The 24 hour news cycle now amounts to: (1) outrageous claims of huge Russian losses based on dubious Ukrainian intelligence; (2) sudden no mention of these claims after gradual realization that they cannot be maintained; (3) the invention of new claims the next day.”
One look into our MSM prove that he’s correct. The fact-checkers seem to have gone AWOL. ‘Fact’ is now what amateurs report on social media. Clearly, there are now no ‘fake news’ either because they’re superseded by ‘new News’ and immediately forgotten.
One news item which none of the warmongers and fake-news providers in the west will be able to dismiss is the price rise at the petrol pumps. Reality has this terrible habit of interfering with even the best propaganda.
So for now we must stay even more vigilant, question everything and believe nothing without doing our own fact checks.
Pauline your 7.06pm comment,
I’m sorry I’m not with you in your conclusion that we should accept Putin’s peace terms..
What if we had accepted Hitler’s peace terms, and I don’t mean the one’s that we should meekly stand aside and let him get on with his plundering..
I fought the EU to regain our FULL Sovereignty, whatever we think of the responsibility of the West in egging on the Ukraine, it is a recognised Nation entitled to it’s own full Sovereignty and it has been invaded and therefore must seek to repulse it by all means.
I know there are two areas of the Donbass region which are subject to Minsk terms and they could be negotiated after Russia withdraws from all Ukraine territory (excluding Crimea which may be allowed as
Itin’s face saver) also the Nazi army will have to be withdrawn from the Donbass and disbanded. Oh and they can forget joining NATO
Hi Roger. Well, I said Putin’s offer should be accepted. I think I was meaning that Ukraine should accept it, not ‘us’. Then hopefully all the sanctions could be dropped. They are harming us, probably more than they harm Russia, which can give and take all it needs with China.
I thought someone would draw the parallel with Hitler but look at all the ways it is different. Do you really believe that if Putin gets what he wants in Ukraine he will then invade E.U. and N.A.T.O. Member Countries, working westward across Europe?
Did you read the Daily Sceptic article? You can probably still find it.
Thank you for your reply Pauline and I had read the Daily Sceptic, but I thank Jake for redirecting
I think I was using the “Royal We” and I had meant the Ukraine should not accept Putin`s offer.
I would think any country a poor specimen that just rolled over to an invader without even trying to repulse him.
I felt the Ukraine PM speech using the Churchill “we`ll fight them on the beaches etc” was a bit corny, but nevertheless I felt he was on the right road.
Unfortunately I believe he is doomed to failure and prolongation will only nresult in more bloodshed over an extended period.
As for our sanctions hurting us, that`s for us, particularly our share in poking the tiger, I knowm it doesn`t excuse armed invasion but……………. (I`ve read Rodney Atkinson too)
but also…………….he might win
Roger I think this may be the article Pauline refered to.

If she’s Education Minister, I’ll bet they don’t teach LGBT superiority, Gender bending or BLM nonsense in Ukrainian schools
Well there I do agree with you Roger.
Tucker Carlson Fox News ‘We are at war with Russia”
Thanks Viv – as ever. I no longer follow the news. Your highlights are enough.
I think it was Mark Twain who said that you cannot reason someone out of a position that they never arrived at by reason in the first place. Obviously true – witness Brexit Derangement syndrome, Trump Derangement Syndrome, and masks wars – but also depressing because it means we cannot influence the war mongers in our own country. Charles Mackay observed “Men, it has been said, think in herds; it will be seen that they also go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, one by one.” I thought last year was peak madness and looked forward to the herd recovering albeit slowly one by one, but it seems this year is peak madness or let us hope it is, because of next year is even madder…..
Indeed, there’s no arguing with those who’ve arrived at a position as so excellently described by Mark Twain in your quote.
Another US writer – I forgot who – also said, paraphrasing, that one cannot argue someone out of a position which he’s paid for to maintain.
I believe that the two past covid years have taught too many people around the western world that it’s ok to be stupid and argue the position of the nudgers/propagandists and that’ it’s ok to attack those who dissent.
They don’t notice that that of which they accuse the authoritarian regimes like Russia and China is what their our regimes are doing, that they are conforming just as the people in those countries do.
As for me, it’s: “Etsiam omnes ego non”
Quite
What to believe, eh? There are reports that Ukrainians are blowing up their own bridges to try to stall advances, and blaming that on the Russians, which would be counter intuitive at the least. Likewise destroying their old armour to claim they are winning. Not to mention shelling empty apartment blocks. Even that hideous, if true, clip of a small armoured vehicle blowing apart two old folk in their car, was almost too perfectly framed, like in any number of war films. The fog of war in this age of instant communication seems strangely pervasive.
Ukrainian Education minister Inna Sovlov was on with Mark Steyn. She began by appearing to read what sounded like a propaganda statement, not casual off the cuff remarks. Then segued into claiming the Russian advance is failing and so they are now turning on the civilian population in anger. “But,” she said, “the Ukrainian army after eight years of war against Russians in Donbas is so much better prepared, so much better motivated.”
Come again? Eight years of war against Russians in Donbas? Ooh! Off limits. No one is supposed to mention that. But she did fail to mention the thousands of civilian deaths and infrastructure destroyed there over those eight years, and the cutting of their water supplies. Where was the international outrage? Where were the humanitarian agencies? I am not excusing Putin or war of any kind, just pointing out the double standards, and the selective application of empathy.
PO’S- I posted a similar comment yesterday.
Switched to GBNews just after 4.00 .p.m. today to hear them discussing the madman Putin.
Impartiallity, pimpartiallity . . . .
A number of government ministers are upping the anti insofar as Russia is concerned devising new laws to impound aircraft etc, Ben Wallace and Grant Schapps included. They have found new found vigour as a result of this war, however its a pity that they didn’t direct this vigour into enterprises that would actually have some benefit to the people of this country. The failed Northern Ireland protocol, the English Channel migrant crisis which is still ongoing, and the Fishing and Territorial Waters issue as well. Neither Johnson or his ministers take the issues that effect this country very seriously, but then, what’s new. I don’t want to wish my life away, but roll on 2024 when we can get rid of Johnson and Co for good, but who to replace them I know not any longer. Anyway UKIP here I come…….
And when ( or if ) you get there Colin, tell them they have abused their positions and promises, sat on false laurels, and shown us…. nothing. Political constipation.
TG Spokes…….I will be re-joining UKIP as a new member, even though in years past I was heavily involved at local and regional level, it will not count for anything. Back then and we are only talking about a few years most constituencies had a UKIP branch (constituency association) which sadly is no longer the case including the constituency where I live where the branch was dissolved due to lack of support, or more to the point a lack of members willing to fill local party officer posts. I will not be re-joining UKIP to reverse the fortunes of the local party set up, but as an ordinary member, so I will personally have little on influence on anything apart from the political hot air from my mouth in my own back yard. However assuming that the party remains on an even keel over the next couple of years and grows its membership, I may stand as a candidate in the local elections in 2024. Unfortunately the party has had its problems and has lost an awful lot of ground in terms of elected councilors etc, and has little or no influence over anything, and if you personally think it has, you must surely be deluded. It will be like starting all over again, but I would much prefer to do that under UKIP than with Reform UK which has completely lost its way.
Fully agree with your viewpoint Viv.

I’ve just read that Jake and I think Will Jones has made a very good case.
Why are we doing harm to ourselves?
Sorry, but I do not feel ‘outraged’ at Putin’s actions. And even if I did, I’ve got enough problems of my own, largely financial, without adding to them.
Putin’s ‘peace offering’ should be accepted IMHO.
