Despite the efforts of the Westminster MSM, today’s ‘news’ are so thin on the ground that going back to bed looked like a good option. Digging deeply and also looking at reports from ‘Teh Continent’, I did find a few pearls for your delectation. Firstly, check out the headline for the customary compilation of print front pages: “Newspaper headlines: Fresh Russell Brand allegations and call for asylum reform“ (link).
Yay – more Brand and ‘asylum’! Leaving yon scandal aside, a look at this ‘asylum reform call’ shows that this is about Ms Braverman going to the USA where she will give a speech in which she will say something about the UN Asylum charter needing reform. The DT’s headline is sufficient:
“Suella Braverman: Absurd UN asylum rules have created 780m ‘refugees’ – Home Secretary to call for reform of global convention that has led to ‘huge incentives for illegal migration’.” (paywalled link).
Yeah, well – pull factors such as unlimited financial support and help in letting families follow certainly are not incentives! Moreover, nobody in the MSM newsrooms is digging into what Matt Goodwin called the ‘Charity Judicial industrial Complex’, certainly not here in the UK. This complex is international and relies on government handouts.
You’ve heard of Lampedusa and Italy’s difficulties with this wave of Sub Saharan boat people. This is the background for a report in the German paper “Die Welt” from the weekend. The German government is apparently handing out German government money to German NGOs working in Italy. The Italian government is outraged (machine translated from German):
“The Federal Government wants to support organizations that take care of boat migrants in Italy. This is a “very serious behavior” for the government in Rome. Berlin is putting its [Italy] country in trouble, says the Italian Minister of Defense.” (paywalled link)
This has now escalated: Ms Meloni, the Italian PM, yesterday wrote a letter to the German Chancellor Mr Scholz, as the German paper reports, providing a quote from that letter (again, machine translate from German)
“I have learned with astonishment that your government, without coordinating with the Italian government, has decided to provide significant funds for non-governmental organizations working to receive irregular migrants on Italian territory and to rescue them in the Mediterranean,” Meloni wrote in her letter to Scholz. EU countries that wanted to help Italy should better focus on “structural solutions” such as cooperation with transit countries to stop entry.” (paywalled link)
Interesting, innit! Compare and contrast with our UK politicians: here we have the prospective Labour PM warbling about ‘crushing people smugglers’ while the current Home Sec will talk about reforming the whole UN ‘Rulz’ concoction. Meanwhile we keep paying Macron for doing eff all to stop the dinghies from leaving France.
At the same time French authorities are pretty harsh in preventing all those poor refugees from entering France at the Italian border. There are more French police at this border, more drones – and:
“Since the beginning of the year, 31,000 people who wanted to get from Italy to France have been arrested and returned to Italy.” (paywalled link, machine translated from German)
How astounding: France is able to send back ‘poor refugees’, ECHR and UN ‘rulz’ notwithstanding! In contrast, our lot is incapable of doing so and provides maritime taxi services instead. Well, Woke Whitehall, with support from the Woke Westminster MSM, are obviously more powerful than our elected government.
Moreover, Sunak is clearly frit of taking on yon Charity-Judicial Industrial Complex, having his hands full with the Net Zero acolytes and the HS2 ‘runaway costs’, leading to some Tory Big Beasts making an appearance, gleefully reported in The Times thusly:
“Lord Hammond of Runnymede, a former chancellor, told The Times that the project risked becoming a white elephant if it was not finished, and Patrick McLoughlin, a former transport secretary, said that scaling it back would be “completely wrong”. It means that two former Tory prime ministers, three former chancellors and a former transport secretary are all opposed to curtailing the line.” (link, paywalled)
Strange, innit: none of the above, Sunak included, are apparently in the least bit concerned about the ‘runaway costs’ of illegal immigration or the role this will play in the coming GE. Instead of acting and returning illegal migrants, ECHR notwithstanding, like France does, “we” pay Macron while also providing free ‘everything’ to the many illegals arriving here from France. Clearly these are not ‘runaway costs’ of concern to Sunak or the Tory Big Beasts.
That’s all I have for today. I wonder if the Frogs have been using our money to beef up their Italian border rather than stop dinghies from leaving their war-torn Channel coast. Have a good day.
“Risked becoming a white elephant? Risked? It has BEEN a vast chalky white elephant all along. And why can they not pull the plug? Because it originated as part of the EU plan for the Trans-European Rail Network.
We managed to cancel Black Night, Blue Streak, TSR2, Concorde, and Nimrod, the latter just as it was nearing completion finally meeting the ever-changing MoD spec that so delayed it. All world leading tech in their time; all at great cost and damaging the continuity of engineering expertise, of which politicians understand nothing; thus shooting ourselves in the foot. But despite communications tech and working practices moving into a new era since the contracts were first envisaged, apparently we cannot cancel digging a useless great furrow at crippling cost through what remains of rural England, at the instigation of the EU which we left.
The Midland Loop or Oval.
All the fuss about HS2. In the mid 70’s I was commissioned as an Engineering and Management Consultant by Sir Alastair Morton head of the Strategic Rail Authority by Mrs Thatcher. Who had as Chairman managed to force through the Chanel Tunnel etc…I was commissioned to first look into the optimum value for money of rail in the rest of the country outside London. This I completed and was satisfactory The report concluded a n oval linr around the pennines. joining some major cities and towns Plus three lincs across cross country to Liverpool, Hull and ( For international trade and bulk via ) Newcastle. And covered stops at some 30 cities etc. I personally walked and checked problematic ( many) bridges cuttings tunnels etc Rolling stock and on and on
The report covered Journey times Station comfort, Freight and so on. And from discussion various organisations was.
He paid and presented, then, because he was told that the EU had more important plans to continue from the tunnel through london etc it was wasted.
Now theyr’e fighting for it There’s an article in Indepence about it giving more info somewhere
Democracy:- One man one vote each and all of equal importance. The party system is necessary, otherwise they’ll end up killing each other. But the primary responsibility must be to ones home. Break that and you’re inviting a warped responsibility. And therefore all the ills we now have of Lobbying, Parachuting, Bought MP’s, And that opens the doors to diversion of Tax money, or even worse, defying the values of the votes, contractual futures etc. Committees for anything but advice, blows a corrupt hole in democracy
So, if you need to flourish demography, Take note and at least get closer with some sort of attempt.
.
Organisations can only be fought by another organisation. An organisation can only survive by supporting itself.
Even the most stupid Roman soldier knew that their organisation won its battles. And that corruption, Unearned promotion, and infighting lost them.
Our right Wing has many who consider themselves ” Wonderful leaders”. OK , use our assets of which this is
just one.
The overall leader could be an unknown, Bureaucrat . But get on with it unlauded , ( with his little computer and mobile )’ policing
bureaucrat. His job ? To allocate the take, provide the membership file, £ and other nonsense, settle boundary disputes, and all the usual essentials.
Just one of many working possibilities. But no more spokesmen with no guts or fame
The Charity-Judicial Industrial Complex is a huge problem, may be even the problem du jour, not least for characterising economic migrants as refugees and so obfuscating the problem (as the left want). But illegal migration is not the only problem. European countries have for a long time been importing people with no allegiance to the host country or shared values and culture, the recent riots in France being a particular example of what can then happen, as was New Year’s Eve in Cologne in 2015, and with the UK bringing in over 600,000 last year from mainly non common law countries.
It is as if governments suffer from Dissociative Identity Disorder, On the one hand they are economically nationalist – Biden’s America instituting economic protectionism even more than Trump with the EU’s custom union implementing it at a supra-national level – but socio-politically internationalist through the UN, WHO, G7 and G20.
Supra-national organisations suffer from insular complacency and blinkered self-satisfaction with no concern for the practicalities or costs of the generosity they inflect on others. The are pre-occupied only by their own moral vanity.
The rise of right of centre parties in EU countries – from Swedish Democrats to the AfD and Le Pen – and the refusal by Hungary and Poland to dance to the EU Commission’s tune, are grounds for hope. The EU needs to unravel but it is taking a long, long time to happen with much suffering on the way.
Meanwhile, I enjoy this which I offer for all of you wanting to improve your French:
Nice video, Stout, just right for my level of French …
Well, yes indeed. I was thinking about Adolf Hitler and the Nazis, they started out as a very left wing party and when the right wing backlash came , they simply rode the wave and went with it.
I’ve always said and been shouted down for it: “the more extreme you allow a problem to become, the more extreme are the solutions. Adolf Hitler certainly did use extreme methods but this time around I things are going to be a lot worse.
That there will be a right wing backlash I have no doubt, I’m not quite sure how it will play out but Britain, Europe and the US are heading for probably the most violent times in history, most of the world will not escape either. This left wing stuff has gone too far this time, if you don’t defend you borders, you just end up fighting your wars on your own soil. After two world wars, I’m wondering if we’ll prevail this time.
Suella Braverman doth protest too much! Wasn’t it her Party that signed up to the UN Global Compact on Migration? Still it’s conference time and she has to contribute to the rope a dope conference fest screening shortly.
“Woke Whitehall, with support from the Woke Westminster MSM, are obviously more powerful than our elected government.”
How very true. It should be obvious by now that no matter who you vote for, it will make no difference. Any attempt to effect change will be blocked unless it follows the Woke agenda. This country is governed by the unelected, The House of Lords, the Media, the Judiciary, various NGO’s and Corporates, the list goes on. Our elected representatives, such as they are, are at the bottom of the list. The voters aren’t even on the list. They don’t matter. The illusion of democracy is surely becoming more and more apparent.
I fear that is just a list of puppets, Ken. Elected/unelected makes no difference; we are not governed we are controlled by a cabal of psychopathic international bankers and sociopathic billionaires. And you can feel their net closing almost daily now if you are awake. You know this is true because if you name them you get cancelled or locked up, as they project their own behaviour onto you. They have used language to put themselves beyond criticism, untouchable – just as they are physically untouchable in their city states in Geneva, City of London the Vatican and Washington DC – whilst speaking truth is apparently far-right extremism, or any of the other ‘isms’, now.
We hear constantly from MSM about politicians’ posturing and how they’re going to do this and that , talking the talk but never walking the walk.
But nothing is said in MSM about the huge role played in the shadows by meddling maggots like George Soros. without whom none of the globocap lunacy would be happening. eg Open Society brainwashing of accademia etc.
Most of the people I’ve spoken to have never heard of Soros, while they suffer constantly at the hands of that creature and its pals. Through our corrupt politicians, the likes of Soros are “governing” our country: a government of occupation, “using our politicians as suicide drones” to quote a very apt description I picked up somewhere lately.
Here is one article about Soros: one of the comments is VERY interesting.
https://www.conservativewoman.co.uk/the-indoctrinators-part-1-george-soros/
PS re my last para. I am referring to his activities during WW2.
Let that sink in: someone with a track record like that is virtually “governing” Britain.
Illegal immigration:
The answer is simple; stop complying with the requirements of the various organisations that are promoting it. If, as expected, they don’t like it then withdraw from membership. Were we ever consulted about such matters? Thought not.
I just don’t listen to politicians anymore. When you think about it, when was the last time you heard a politician tell the truth? It doesn’t happen very often, so why does anybody still listen to them when we know that when they move their lips they are lying?
For a decade we’ve listened to politicians such as Javid, Patel and Braverman talk tough and do nothing, fobbing us off in other words. It was a our politicians that couldn’t wait to sign the international agreements that allowed this foreign invasion to happen, they’ve been bought and paid for by the globalists and there are very few actual British politicians left.
Politicians will not help us, they are no longer British politicians, they are bought and paid for and they will continue to sell us out.
