… determined to ‘make it work’, whatever ‘it’ is
This morning “we” have to talk about Russell Brand again because what the Sunday papers wrote wasn’t sufficient. It’s wall-to-wall, as the usual front pages compilation shows (link) and it fills the top part of the broadsheets’ online editions this morning, with the BBC now having come into focus as well.
All I ask is this: why is it that so many ‘knew’ about this but didn’t say a word? After all, this was at the time of “MeToo”, so surely someone should have said something? Perhaps it was because he was ‘one of them’, at the time: a lefty and an anti-Brexiteer. Speaking of Brexit – here’s a bit I fished out of the grauniad:
“Labour will seek major rewrite of Brexit deal, Keir Starmer pledges – Party leader says he will pursue a closer trading relationship with the EU and much better terms for the UK than Boris Johnson managed” (link)
Interesting, isn’t it, what the “we won’t touch Brexit” slogan looks like in Labour practice! Also interesting is that Starmer didn’t say this here in the UK, but in Canada:
“Starmer made the comments in Canada at a conference of centre-left leaders, the Global Progress Action Summit, in Montreal, where he had a bilateral meeting with the country’s prime minister, Justin Trudeau. The trip is part of a wider tour of the international stage: Starmer visited The Hague last week and will arrive in Paris to see the French president, Emmanuel Macron, on Tuesday.” (link)
‘Modern electioneering’ must make the candidate ‘look good’ on the international stage, or in this case :must make the candidate look palatable to ‘centre-left international leaders’. I’m sure yon lefty ‘leaders’ were pleased to hear Starmer saying that:
“[…] there is “more that can be achieved across the board” between the UK and EU in a revised deal – on business, veterinary compliance, professional services, security, innovation, research and other areas. He ruled out rejoining the EU, the customs union and the single market.” (link)
Obviously, Starmer and his electioneering helpers believe that we all have forgotten their behaviour when the Brexit deal was trashed out in the HoC. I for one haven’t forgotten, nor have I forgotten the Lawfare instituted by Labour and other Remainers. More:
“Johnson’s deal is up for review in 2025 but the process is seen more by Brussels as an ironing-out procedure. European appetite for renegotiating a deal that commenced in 2021 is uncertain.” (link)
So let’s disregard that this review will take place anyway, that it’s not due to Starmer’s ‘determination’? What a clever ‘sell’! However, next year there are elections to the shining example of ‘democracy in action’, the EU parliament.
Given the increasingly anti-Brussels attitude in EU countries, the increasing difficulties the EU has with economic failures, unrestricted mass immigration, combined green crappery and support for yon war, I wonder what a new ‘council’ in Brussels will look like when the current faces have gone.
And now, if you have the stomach for it, here are some tear-inducing observations by Sir Kneeler:
“We have to make it work,” Starmer told the paper. “That’s not a question of going back in. But I refuse to accept that we can’t make it work. I think about those future generations when I say that. I say that as a dad. I’ve got a 15-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl. I’m not going to let them grow up in a world where all I’ve got to say to them about their future is, it’s going to be worse than it might otherwise have been. I’ve got an utter determination to make this work.” (link)
Oh my! He’s ‘determined to make it work’. Why, one might ask, didn’t he do his best to ‘make it work’ when the negotiations were under way? Was it because he and his Party as well as his helpers in Whitehall and Westminster were determined to prevent Brexit from working, any which way possible?
Note, for future reference, that one Labour slogan will be “we will make it work”, whatever ‘it’ is. The cherry on this international theatre production of ‘Starmer-the-statesman’ is this:
“In Paris on Tuesday, Macron and Starmer are expected to discuss post-Brexit relations, as well as a potential returns agreement with the EU to stop people travelling across the Channel in dangerously small boats.” (link)
Oh dear. Hasn’t Starmer been in Parliament long enough to know by now that ‘Paris’, i.e. Macron, is happily taking our money without fulfilling their ‘promises’? Never mind that: this is about a photo opportunity to show how “The Worrrld” will love and support a PM Starmer. And if this also allows him to show the finger to Johnson, all the better.
That’s all I have for today. I wonder if Starmer and Labour realise that they could waltz into No 10 if they denounce Net Zero. Perhaps he thinks that execrable policy won’t affect his kids. Have a good day.

Idle Fellow…….you’re certainly right there, Brand is a thoroughly nasty individual. However he got his cum-uppance when he appeared on Question Time with Nigel Farage on the same panel, and Farage wiped the floor with him, as he did with that other nincompoop Eddie Izzard. When I feel like a laugh I put those two clips on which are on You Tube. Bloody hilarious…..
Does anyone know when the ‘investigation’ into Brand was actually started? From the little Mrs Stout has told me about this, it appears to have been a fishing expedition against Brand and not girls/women coming forward of their own volition. The evidential value of testimony obtained is reduced by the investigators’ need to obtain a return, in the form of something sensational to report, on the cost of the investigation. I doubt the investigators were careful to avoid leading questions. Given Brand’s life of celebrity, addiction and promiscuity the investigation was probably near certain to find something. Mrs Stout also reports that a number of media and other people are praising the investigation, people who have been silent over Rotherham, Telford, Oldham etc., and who have learnt no lessons over Kevin Spacey. Brand should immediately identify as a woman and convert to Islam.
The parliament of 2017-2019, was one of the most rotten in UK history. I have neither forgotten nor forgiven. Starmer is perhaps the most sinister of all the MPs. Meetings with Trudeau and Macron are somehow so appropriate as they welcome one of their own. A fantasy shared is a fantasy shored up.
You are absolutely right of course SY. I find Russel Brand pretty obnoxious too but….as you say a fishing expedition would be bound to throw up some juicy titbits in his case. However, the fact that it is probably a stitch-up doesn’t justify the cum-uppance and satisfaction that he is feeling the heat. The low-life in the BBC and guardianistas cannot be allowed to dictate what is right and wrong even though we don’t have a justice system that’s working. I hope he’s got a good lawyer.
As for Starmer, two-faced isn’t the half of it and neither are worth listening too. God help us!!! We must vote for anybody but the labour/con/lib uni party at all costs. A NOTA just won’t work.

It has apparently taken them four years to find enough women to come forward, none of whom contacted the police at any time. A couple who were contacted about their past relationship with him have tweeted that there was no anger or abuse when they refused sex with him and he continued to treat them well. The journalist didn’t use their stories because they did not fit the narrative they were building; that’s not investigative journalism, that’s a stitch up. And why now? I have never liked Brand especially after the Andrew Sachs affair, but he has recently spoken the truth about current narratives – and on those the messenger is subordinate to the message – and I detest our vile po-faced media far more.
Brexit:
Nothing is safe under Labour, not that it is much better under the Cons. Time for a clear-out of those in government at all levels who do not act in the interests of the British people.
The Globocap agenda, the WHO agenda, and Great Reset, and Big Plarma’s profits will be very safe under Starmer. Safe (for them) and effective at reducing us plebs to cattle and wrecking anything that’s left of Britain
