MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Enjoy the peace and quiet, the baubles – and the music!
Instead of ‘news’ here is a selection of music to celebrate this day, starting with the introductory choir from J.S.Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, “Jauchzet, frohlocket”. Here is the link.
(Sadly, youtube doesn’t permit me to insert the actual video, so we must make do with the links – do click on them, these are the best performances you’ll find. Trust me!)

Since we’re British, we simply must have the famous piece by Bach’s contemporary, G.F. Handel from the ‘Messiah’. Here is the link.

Rounding up the Christmas music, the Benedictine monks of Silos are singing ‘Adeste Fideles’. Here is the link.

We must have baubles – today is the proper day for proper baubles!

28/12. Harold Armintage has surfaced in John Redwoods Diary! H.A. is banking the drum for ‘Going Green’ Carbon Neutral policies on there now!
should be banGing the drum
Pauline…….HA has been doing that for some time on this site. He was a big supporter of Boris Johnson and all that he did including Net Zero. Johnson and his antics will be the catalyst of the Conservative Party’s annihilation at the forthcoming 2023 local elections. Nothing much has changed for the better under Sunak and Hunt either. Migrants continue to flow across the English Channel unabated even over Christmas despite promising us that it was at the top of his priorities and giving the French government even more of our money for doing basically sweet FA. That and the continuing saga of the Northern Ireland protocol, its pretty much business as usual with bugger all being about anything which matters. Has Sunak achieved anything since walking into 10, Downing Street, apart from switching on the Christmas tree lights outside his front door? Answers please on the back of a postage stamp.
Colin. Why do you keep telling me things I already know?
I agree with what you say about Sunak and Hunt. The so called conservative party are indeed totally useless.
Pauline…I have absolutely no idea what I keep on telling you something which you already know. Perhaps its because great minds think alike, or perhaps because I am not psychic, or perhaps because I am just bloody boring or a mixture of all three. Having said that, how is it Mr. Armitage has access to John Redwood’s diary. Has he been through Redwood’s jacket pockets and taken it and then shown you. The mind boggles. In all seriousness, is John Redwood’s diary site, one which you can leave comments on like on this site? It is all very well John Redwood criticising the government, but what is he going to do about it personally other then writing about it in a diary which is seen by a limited group of people? Will he resign the Conservative Party whip and defect to a minor party like Reform UK or Heritage Party as I believe he should perhaps consider. The likelihood is that at the next general election as things stand he will lose his seat to the Liberal Democrats, so perhaps has nothing to lose by moving over to a party that is more in line with his current way of thinking. If he did that, that might serve as a precursor to other disenfranchised Conservative MP’s who have nothing to lose and do something positive and defect to other parties. If sufficient Conservatives did this, it might just jolt the current leftwing Conservative Party and its leaders to return to the ground that it once occupied on the centre right.
We are trapped in free speech without a weapon. Welcome
Hi Pauline, unfortunately the term “going green” simply means you are extremely gullible to money grabbing meglomaniacs. This is a very sore subject with me.
Hope everyone had a good Christmas and I wish everyone a Happy New Year. We started the day with a call to let us know a family member had died in the early hours of Christmas Day.
Hopefully we will start to see more people waking up from their comatose state of the last THREE years. I can’t believe this hysteria is still going on and I am actually still seeing pointless masks all over the place.
Condolences on your loss, Lisa. It’s bad enough losing a loved one at any time but even worse on Christmas Day. Not much celebrating on the day, was there? I know how you feel; try and have a happy New Year.
Thank you very much Debbie. It sounds like you have had a similar experience.
Yes Lisa. My bereavement, many years ago, was on New Year’s Day. It was not unexpected.
Sorry about your loss Lisa. I still see those muzzles too. I’ve had a bit of a scare about my Visa debit card expiring to cope with.
That is the only way I can spend or access my only income! And of course, even my bank is only offering a ‘limited service’ unti after the new year.
PB Seconded.
Debit card the only way you can access your money? Might not it be wise to have alternatives in hand, like cash or stocking up extra food ? Especially in view of this:
Pauline B: PS : Please note that the BBC presenter in this video is an actress warning us what’s to come: it hasn’t happened yet, but will at some stage in the future, possibly soon.
8 minutes in, it warns that everyone’s bank accounts will be frozen without warning; then that later on you will be able to get it unfrozen and get your money out- but only if you sell your soul by partaking in the CBDC system. .
A trap to get us to throw away our liberty forever.
Of course the propaganda will be intense that the Government is our rescuer, rescuing us us from financial turmoil. Turmoil which they themselves created; but of course they won’t mention that.
My condolences Lisa, just catching up after several days of the women’s work that is known as catering for Christmas and hosting family visitors.
Pointless masks? Well, at the start of the month we had a wonderful long weekend in S.Wales, starting with a catch up with Hugh Moelwyn Hughes & David Rowlands with the Free Libertarians in Usk. Covid rates so low there masks were superflous, great.
However, we, as well as the numpties supposedly advising us, have learned NOTHING about contagion management in 3 yrs. Out shopping for food & gifts last week, I was glad of my FFP3 respirator grade mask, not because of covid but all the full of cold fellow shoppers who were not masking. Worst of all was the girl holding up the lid of a large freezer in my local farm shop and coughing into it. I was glad of both my mask and that I didn’t want anything from that freezer. I did not want to be laid up with a cold or flu for Christmas either.
HW I suppose you won’t be happy until we all end up going around looking like the Chinese in the photo on this link : https://dailysceptic.org/2022/12/30/testing-chinese-visitors-to-the-u-k-would-be-foolish
looking more like muzzled dogs than humans.
Well now that we’ve apparently signed up to the WHO Pandemic Treaty, we’ll probably get that scenario soon and it will doubtless be here to stay. Maybe you’ll be happy but I won’t.
(I’m not commenting on the content of the Daily Sceptic article in the link, but on the photo).
Happy Christmas one and all!
