A jolly good start to the morning: bashing the MSM

There’s nothing as exhilarating and enjoyable first thing in the morning than proving that our MSM are indeed propaganda instruments, that they no longer report news, that their business is to keep emotions running as high as possible, that factual investigations are a thing of the past, that copying from a ‘respectable’ newspaper is all that is needed.

I’m talking about the ‘poisoning of Abramovich’. This morning, all print editions of the British press are running with this story on their front pages. Take a look at the BBC’s compilation here: all are singing from the same hymn sheet! Since people generally read the headlines only, I’ll do as they do and leave the British MSM swamp festering in all its glory.

The ‘story’ originated in the USA. I was alerted to it last evening by a ‘breaking news’ email  from the National Review. I’ll quote from that report because it’s brief and has the main points which ought to have alerted newswriters over there as well as here, namely that this ‘story’ might have been a bit dodgy. The report starts:

“Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich and at least two Ukrainian peace negotiators showed symptoms of suspected poisoning following a meeting in Kyiv earlier this month, according to a new report. People familiar with the matter told the Wall Street Journal that Abramovich, who has been involved in attempts to end the war, and the Ukrainians suffered from symptoms including red eyes, constant and painful tearing, and peeling skin on their faces and hands. The victims of the suspected poisoning have since improved and their lives are not in danger, according to the report.” (paywalled link)

Alert readers note immediately that this ‘breaking news’ was copied from the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) which, eminent paper or not, simply reported gossip from ‘sources’. Next, we’re in the familiar domain of ‘experts’, always anonymous:

“Western experts who investigated the suspected poisoning said it is difficult to determine whether the symptoms were caused by a chemical or biological agent or by some sort of electromagnetic-radiation attack, according to the report. Sources told the outlet they believe the attack was perpetrated by hard-liners in Moscow hoping to sabotage the peace talks.” (paywalled link)

Never mind that Abramovich never was part of that Ukrainian ‘peace talk’ delegation and has no official standing – this is about throwing dirt at  ‘Moscow’. Perhaps this was an attempt to create the ‘false flag chemical attack’ Biden has been warning about for some time? More:

“A spokesperson for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who has met with Abramovich, said he had no information about the incident, the Wall Street Journal reported. Zelensky was not affected by the suspected poisoning.” (paywalled link)

Those who inform themselves elsewhere, shunning the ‘news’ pre-chewed by the MSM, know that the whereabouts of Mr Z are ‘unknown’. He may be In Lviv, he may be in Warsaw – but he certainly isn’t in Kiev. Thus it would be difficult if not unbelievable to spin this ‘attack’ into one aimed at Mr Z. But it’s good to throw in his name anyway. It’s not the responsibility of hacks when readers of their reports draw the wrong conclusions! Next, the refutation:

“Hours after the Wall Street Journal report was published on Monday, a U.S. official told Reuters that intelligence suggests Abramovich and the Ukrainian negotiators were sickened by an environmental factor, not poisoning. “The intelligence highly suggests this was environmental,” the unnamed official told Reuters. “E.g., not poisoning.” (paywalled link)

This is interesting because it’s a hint that US officials were aware but didn’t think this ‘story’ needed to be pushed. Remember: this poisoning happened ‘earlier this month’, no proper date was given. And now we come to the core of the ‘report’: naming the one ‘source’ or ‘expert’, suggesting why the WSJ and our own MSM ran with it:

“The investigation into the suspected poisoning was organized by Christo Grozev, an investigator with the open-source collective Bellingcat, according to the [WSJ] report. Grozev said a timely sample collection could not be arranged and that by the time a German forensic team was able to perform an examination, it was too late to detect the suspected poison.“It was not intended to kill, it was just a warning,” Grozev told the outlet.”(paywalled link)

So nothing was found, nothing could be proven and since they didn’t die it was ‘only a warning’ … perhaps by Ukrainian ‘forces’? Wasn’t one of the first negotiators shot in Kiev, by the Ukrainian KGB? Moreover, looking at this named ‘source’, we recall that “Bellingcat”- based in London – was the source during the Syrian civil war for all these reports about Assad’s various ‘poison’ and ‘chemical’ attacks. Their ‘reports’ were used by western media to fuel the civil war in Syria. We remember the various images, the ‘White Helmet Productions’ later refuted by international organisations.

Why did the WSJ run with this non-story? Because we were told for weeks now that Russia was planning chemical or poison or even biological attacks. Biden warned of that, didn’t he, saying that these ‘Russian attacks’ would be false flag events. So what could be better than an ‘attack’ on peace negotiators!

Just as in Syria, ‘independent investigators’ couldn’t collect samples. Just as in Syria, ‘independent investigators’ could later not find anything. The difference to this Kiev tale is of course that nobody died or was even seriously ill.

Were the ‘peace negotiators’ perhaps unwilling to sacrifice their health, never mind their lives, for the ‘false flag’ event to be blamed on Russia, in the hope NATO would now finally send troops into Ukraine? Perhaps the theatre producers in Kiev were simply inept and didn’t manage to produce a nice, convincing ‘play’ for the western media?

Perhaps the WSJ sat on this ‘report’, only to splash it across their pages just as another bout of ‘peace negotiations’ was going to start? We remember from Syria that such ‘events’ always seemed to occur when some sort of compromise was on the cards.

Given that our as well as other western MSM have made this event their main story, I wonder if the point and the timing was meant to scupper the peace negotiations starting today in Istanbul. ‘Moscow’ certainly seems to think so, according to their ‘state propaganda outlet’ which we of course don’t read or believe (link).

I leave you with another ‘Biden Special’. At a press conference regarding the US budget for 2023, Biden, referring to his ‘Putin must go’ remark, said that “he was expressing “moral outrage” and not policy and that “nobody believes” he was serious” (link). Phew, that’s alright then, innit!

However, why should we now take his ‘moral outrage’ seriously? Why ought we to take anything he says ‘seriously’? I’m sure our esteemed propaganda media will tell us precisely what and what not to believe, and which Biden words to take seriously or not.

They’d better ask themselves why we should want to buy their ‘products’, paying for the ‘pleasure’ of being brainwashed by them.
