Illegal immigrants and ‘modern day slavery’
It’s the ‘day after’ but it is forgivable that there are no election results on the MSM front pages: counting was still ongoing when the papers had to go to the printers. However, ‘staff’ at Auntie Beeb were exceedingly sly and manipulative when penning their headline for this morning’s collection of MSM printed front pages. Remember that most people only scan the headlines on their smartphones but don’t read the whole article.
So was I wrong when I saw this: “Newspaper headlines: ‘Obscene’ energy profits and King still ‘relaxed’” (link) and thought that the King was relaxed about ‘obscene energy profits’? Isn’t this the insinuation wanted by the anti-monarchist Beeb? Isn’t this the effect they want to elicit in the brains of the non-thinking smartphone-holding masses, inducing them to demand an end to the monarchy? Isn’t this precisely the effect the string-pullers want, in order to present their beloved ‘polling results’ showing ‘people want a republic’?
Don’t make the mistake and believe that there are no ill-effects induced by such sly insinuations. Usually they’re especially effective when people haven’t got a clue of what they’re actually talking about. They are utilised by those who wish to profit from a situation, with hair-raising results.
For example, last evening The Times published a report under this extraordinary headline: “Most Channel migrants facing deportation claim to be slavery victims” (link, paywalled). For some readers, this is excellent clickbait. Others will nod wisely and support the Lefty drive to take in all who come. If, reading yon headline, you associated ‘slavery’ with ‘reparations’ and all the rest, you’d be excused, because, thanks to incessant images in the MSM, we associate ‘refugees’ and especially the Channel crossing variety with Sub-Saharan people. So now read this (all emphases are mine):
“Albanians continue to be the largest group of people reported to the Home Office’s national referral mechanism for assessing claims of modern slavery. They accounted for 1,452 of all potential victims, 31 per cent of the total. Britons were the second most common, followed by Sudanese. […] Government sources attributed the overall rise in claims to a significant increase in those made by small boat migrants. They said the migrants, mainly Albanian, were lodging the claims to avoid deportation. Anyone who claims to be a victim of modern slavery must have their case assessed before they are removed, with an average of 566 days taken from referral to a “conclusive grounds” decision.” (link, paywalled)
Instead of an outcry about ‘modern day labour gang bosses’ exploiting their workers – the clue is in ‘Britons … complaining’ – Remain Central has slyly twisted this report which in fact ought to have been about the Illegal Immigration Bill:
“The Illegal Migration Bill aims to prevent migrants who enter illegally from claiming protection under modern slavery laws. Theresa May, the former prime minister, is attempting to block the measure, arguing that it will “shut the door” to victims of modern slavery and has urged the government to exempt victims.” (link, paywalled)
Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t this outcry about modern slavery apply in the first instance to those who are already here? I now expect the future lot of dinghy drivers to claim they’ve also been subject to modern slavery and that’s why they fled. After all, the various ‘refugee’ organisations and the people traffickers will certainly instruct them to do so.
No question that the whole disgusting scandal of illegal immigration has become a playball for virtue-signallers, ‘human rights’ lawyers, lefty politicians and HO mandarins who wish to get rid of any Minister trying to get to grips with this issue. Obviously none of those are sparing a thought for us taxpayers who are paying for this while there’s no money left for anything else.
Just think how wonderful our glorious Sacred Cow could be if the money spent on illegal migrants were spent on the NHS!this country’s infrastructure crumbles. Equally obviously, Labour is extremely relaxed about this, not least because their erstwhile PMs, both Blair and Brown, kicked off this flood for political gain.
I leave you with ‘news’ from yesterday’s elections. It was ‘a dark day for British democracy’, wails the DT because voter ID was demanded:
“The local elections have marked a “dark day for British democracy”, campaigners have said as the Electoral Commission acknowledged some people were “regrettably” unable to cast their ballot as a result of the voter ID requirement.” (paywalled link)
There’s more, and you won’t be surprised when you see who the moaners are:
“The change was piloted regionally before the national roll-out for Thursday’s elections and it will come into force for UK general elections from October. The policy is opposed by Labour, the Liberal Democrats and the Green Party whereas the Government argues the change is required to reduce electoral fraud.” (paywalled link)
However, I wailed silently (mustn’t upset the resident collie!) when I read that the Electoral Commission “was given £5.6 million to carry out a public awareness campaign,” (link, paywalled) – what the fluff? Let’s forget that this was a ‘pilot scheme’ run in a few constituencies only. Let’s not quibble that ElCom doesn’t have any numbers, and let’s not ask how successfully they spent the £5.6m of our money when people were turned away!
I am incensed by the outcry about a ‘dark day for British democracy’, as if preventing electoral fraud is unheard of here in the UK. I also wonder why the LibLabGreen leaders reject this scheme – shouldn’t it help with their aim to get more and more people to use postal voting which is far more open to fraud, something even the Westminster MSM have documented for years?
Above all, let’s not ask why we peasants have to ‘document’ our existence to the government in all its forms! It is funny though that the same lot who want digital ID, who was happy with those smartphone Q Codes as ‘proof’ for compliance during he covid years, are now weeping about a photo ID demanded when voting. Shouldn’t they support this scheme to the hilt?
That’s all I have for today. Why should we trust the Westminster ‘rulers’ in anything when they so obviously don’t trust us? Moreover, aren’t those ID ‘demands’, digital or not, akin to chains, making us into the modern day ‘digital’ slaves of yon Westminster ‘rulers’? Have a good day.
I hope you are going to call it ” The Civil Dosobedience Partyor even
“The Civil Disobedience and Reset Party”
Always nail your colours to the mast
Right, now polling IDs are in place, the next important move must be to return postal votes only to those unable to get to the polling stations due to Ill health or to working abroad. That WOULD it down on the cheating: ‘That’s alright, dear, I’ll fill it in for you!’ or. ‘You’ll fill that form in as I tell you to!’
Agreed?
I do not like this situation. All focus on media and political diversion. All the attention on smoke and mirrors. There is just too much that could just happen. Too much boiling up. Too much maneuvering . Taken with the constant pressure to force decay on us for no discernible reason. Why are they trying so hard to destroy what was once a pleasant country. I feel ( And I rarely descend into the metaphysical ) like, ominous. There is too much wrong that could be put right by ordinary housekeeping, but we aren’t even cleaning up our own political manure. And there’s tons of it. And the stink of it must alarm the Commonwealth and others who look to us.
University union Bar in a common room. 1952ish Coronation on little telly. I’m playing bridge, part watching telly with usual kibitzers. Plus Silus Dove, an enormous Nigerian chap, Quite drunk declaiming ” She’s s beautiful a beautiful royal princess in a beautiful golden coach. Her wearing her crown “;;;; and so on.
To us it ‘s just the monarchy. but to half the world they are real and responsible like having a big brother., and we need to know that.
Well, how did the right of centre parties do yesterday. Well, that well known political force Reform UK who are going to sweep the board at the next general election (not) got two extra councilors to add to the four they already had making six councilors nationwide….wow wee what a result they will be cock-a-hoop at that result. However, it gets worse, in that UKIP did not win a stitch but lost 22 councilors, so now have none whatsoever. And the Heritage Party got none as well and have zero councilors. Apparently Britain First had one councilor elected, but I think they are a far right party. In my neck of the woods the two Reform UK candidates that stood got 119 and 125 votes respectively and were firmly at the bottom of the pecking order by quite a wide margin, with the winners getting something like 1700 plus votes. In UKIP’s heyday we were polling nearer to 800 votes in those wards, so Reform UK are well and truly off the mark, and the Heritage Party candidate got 77 votes whilst the winner got 1800 votes. That is the insurmountable mountain that they have to climb. Embarrassing all round I would say, and no reason whatsoever to spring those Champagne corks. Some heads need to be banged together, not once but several times. They need to unite in some form or other to get anywhere, but how many times has it been said on this site alone?
Very disappointing Colin but it doesn’t put me off giving the local activist Reform UK team my active support for 2024. The rich are getting richer and the poor getting poorer – fertile recruiting times ahead.
Much as I detest almost all the Tories’ (the WEF’s) policies at government level, locally they have been less de-conservative-ised (my new word). But my true blue council has just gone to the LibtardDems for the first time in the 40 years I have lived here. God help us.
Only the Lib/Lab/Cons standing, by the way, so they lost it without even the help/spoiler effect of a minor party. Hopefully the effects will become apparent to people fairly quickly.
Following on from my “diatribe” on Wednesday evening and Lisa and Jack Thomas`s comments in support on Thursday 4th May, I was discussing the meaning of a poster I had spotted in my Doctor`s waiting room, which I believed asked me the questions whether I was
CONFUSED
UNHAPPY
WORRIED
SCARED
ANGRY
And I answered I am downright SCARED by amongst other things
“………..the introduction of digital currency in the full control of governments possibly modelled in “Chinese Style”
I ended by pointing out, I am not only SCARED but bl**dy ANGRY.
Would you believe it? I have just found back up to my digital fears in Thursday`s DT, a centre spread editorial type comment
headed
“The war on cash poses an existential threat to our financial independence”
Penned by ALLISTER HEATH
This is the first time I have ever seen, heard or read such a devastating and wide raging commentary in the press detailing the dangers of the introduction of a digital currency
The whole article is packed with quotable comments, so I have picked out one towards the end, which I believe supports MY/OUR fears to the hilt and should be promulgated more widely
“So what should be done? Businesses must continue to give customers the choice to pay in cash. The Government must stop discouraging it.The Bank of England should be blocked from pursuing its Britcoin, and other monetary authorities prevented from launching their central bank digital currencies. The private sector should be allowed to develop and use crypto currencies, but not the state. Britain should learn from Florida, which has banned the use of SOCIAL CREDIT SCORES (my emphasis) in banking and lending. Nobady should be allowed to use the payment system to discriminate on the basis of political views, religion or other legal beliefs”
Oh I cannot finish without mentioning his comment on Justin Trudeau`s “sins”
“In one of the most despicable power grabs of the pandemic, Justin Trudeau the execrable Canadian prime minister froze the bank accounts of people protesting against against a law stipulating that all truckers must be vaccinated to cross the US-Canada border……………….this is an abominable use of power”
Have you joined a centre Right party to help alleviate your suffering yet Roger?
Illegal immigrants are bad enought but around four times as many “legal” immgrants are coming here. Most are from alien cultures such as Hong Kong Chinese and Afghanistan.
Plus of course “dependents” of migrants already here.
Watch out for the next big rush from Sudan.
After all the public information about voter I.D people still turn up to vote without it, Horrified I am just horrified , now must dash off to find something else to be horrified about where I don’t need identification, maybe a supermarket or somewhere, there is bound to be somebody horrified about something or other in there.
CH- Agreed – the choices seem to be all the current fashion – green zero but no crops, let ’em all in, anything left of Marx or left of Engles, glue-ers unite, gender tail wagging the reality dog, et al. Only one that seems to be missing is Putin (blowing up own pipelines and bombing own Capital) Bad party! Reform & UKIP – err who he?
With you obvious passion and obvious integrity, I’d vote for you, and no mistake.
CH, in the recent past, you have finally seen what others have seen re Big Nige. There used to be a bloke on tv whose catch phrase was loadsamunny. He has morphed into 7.00 p.m. ‘uk-impartial'(!) news. Bottom line for me? Don’t put faith in false Gods.
Biscotte………..I hold my hands up. Guilty M’Lud. Yes I put blind faith and loyalty in Nigel Farage for years hoping that at long last he would deliver not only for those of us who supported him when leader of UKIP and more latterly The Brexit Party, but also for the many people the length and breadth of this country who wanted to believe in him. He has been a massive massive failure and let down, and more importantly has delivered diddly squat since getting us the referendum in 2016 and getting us the right result. Loads of fine words spoken, but not really interested beyond that. I will not be fooled by him again and furthermore will not listen to his tripe on GB News again. The time has come for those of us on the centre right to look for somebody else to put our our faith in, and in that respect I am definitely not talking about Richard Tice who is politically naive and about as effective as a chocolate teapot. Farage has had his time and his star has fallen and Tice never had a star to fall, so he doesn’t count. I am pinning my hopes on Ben Habib as he is in the same mould as Farage but might actually be able to deliver something more substantial.
Farage got the referendum – no question about that. He didn’t win us the referendum – Dominic Cummings and Matthew Elliot did that with their cross-party Vote Leave campaign. But, it was the UKIP branch network and their activists that did 75% of the leafleting, street campaigns etc for Vote Leave.
I am now a member of three centre Right activist parties and have now identified the one I will be an activist with in the run-up to the 2024 election – ReformUK. We have a number of young members in our constituency who are as keen as mustard to get cracking with the job at hand having a fully vetted PPC in place. Yes, Colin, I and some others are, rightly or wrongly wary of Farage and Tice and their past form in standing down candidates but it is a risk we must put behind us whilst we press on. Maybe more ReformUK constituency groups will go the same way as Reform Derby – aligned to Reform UK but not controlled by Farage and Tice.
Reform UK’s best chance in advancing electorally is to ditch both Tice and Farage at the earliest opportunity and put in place a new leadership team who have some gumption, positivity, common sense and get up and go about them. However that will be almost impossible to do as it is a limited company owned by Farage and Tice. It it were possible, then I would put in place Ben Habib and Belinda De Lucy, both of whom were MEP’s in the European Parliament, are good orators, intelligent and have some political awareness about them which is totally absent at the top of the party at the present time. It also needs to democratise itself in double quick time and form local branch associations in order to recruit the very necessary activist base the party needs in order to spearhead local election campaigns. Without all this, the party has not got a hope in hell and will be constantly bashing their head(s) against a brick wall for eternity whilst getting nowhere.
CH- Benny Nads Habide, right?
Are AlLL the front runners for stardom all from overseas?
Benyamin Naeem Habib was born 1965 in Karachi, Parkistan. His father is Parkistani, as is he.
Olukemi Olufunto Adegoke, is another politician with a good British name and Secretary of State for Business and Trade. Only moved to Britain to get a (free?) degree here.
And on and on.
Looks like the adverts with mainly (70+ percent) non white actors correctly reflect a cross section of Britain today.
Why foreign nationals were ever allowed to stand for government at any level is beyond all reason. It simply reinforces my view that government these days is not intended to represent the native British people.
“Most Channel migrants facing deportation claim to be slavery victims”
Well they would say that wouldn’t they, yet “our” government is still unwilling to do anything about it. The obvious conclusion is that it suits their globalist inspired (ordered?) policy to trash our country.
The DT and DM report that David Starkey, on GB News, remarked upon Sunak’s apparent indifference to the coronation as reflecting he is not “fully grounded in our culture”. For this factually correct observation – the UK is still nominally Christian and Hinduism has not been part of our constitution though Sunak did deck out no 10 with diwali flowers – Starkey is once again pilloried as “vile” and “racist” – by conservative politicians.
The number of people not fully grounded in our culture has been increasing at an historically unprecedented rate for over 20 years. Already, the dilution is enough to change a once coherent nation into an incoherent collection of communities, grudgingly accepting of each other like guests in a hotel, but not with feelings of unity and bonding as in a family. Further, schools appear to be doing their utmost to prevent assimilation of future generations into what is left of our culture.
I think the battle has been lost. Like a bacterial infection running out of control there is a tipping point when it turns into a fatal sepsis. Antibiotics if administered early enough can heal the patient, but the antibiotic for our body politic is missing. Most of the news these days is excrescence in an MSM in denial.
Yesterday at the polling station when I attended I looked at the ballot paper in disgust, there were six candidates which I knew was the case already, namely three candidates for the New Green Party (formerly known as the Conservative Party) and three candidates for the Green Party. In my ward because it is so large there are three elected candidates which has been the case as long as I can remember. No Labour or Liberal Democrat offering as they decided to enter a local electoral pact with the ultra left Green Party, and no UK Independence Party as there used to be for years because since 2019 when the last Borough Council elections were contested, that party imploded and the reasons for this are very well known to the readers of ID. And of course I had been the UKIP candidate in the ward for ten years and because I didn’t stand couldn’t even vote for myself. So, looking at the ballot paper there was nobody worthy of my vote and as I previously decided to spoil the ballot paper that is what I did, and wrote ‘Dire Choice’ alongside each candidates name and wrote ‘UKIP’ at the bottom of the paper with a square and marked an ‘x’ within it. I felt so good when I walked out of the polling station having exercised my democratic right to spoil that ballot paper. However it highlighted the fact that we still do not have reliable alternative to the ruddy useless Conservatives who need replacing pretty damn quickly, and of course that other useless party Reform UK was nowhere to be seen. Not a candidate in sight apart from in two others wards in the 44 ward council. Next time round we must have an alternative and in that the UK Independence Party must get its act together and probably under a different leader.
I would have spoilt my paper too faced with your choices Colin.
There has got to be a way, probably many. I am astonished that there aren’t dozens queueing up to form dozens of parties. I would be happy to put my name on any for the bureaucrats of whatever its called; ( the idiot committee that regulates these things ). Or any existing entity not unwittingly or intentionally captured by the Uni – Pseudopods. of the establishment’toryism, or lefticals
Funny you say that Mr. Spokes, I am on the periphery of a new right of centre political party that is presently being set up. It has a draft name, and T cannot say anything more than that at the moment. I don’t want to get too close because I don’t want to run the risk of getting my fingers burnt once again. The idiot committee that regulates these things is a government agency called the Electoral Commission, which you probably knew. They are very particular about names and branding and will reject an application at the drop of a hat. We just cannot wait for the likes of Reform UK to get their act together, as time is pressing….
Put me down
